After receiving a great reference from a friend we decided to hire Rafael to replaster a popcorn ceiling in our kitchen which was cracking over the stove. Rafael and his team were very professional and went above and beyond to fix our ceiling issues as well as remedied a problem that we didn’t even know about. Rafael and his team were very courteous and worked very hard to ensure that we were happy with the end result. We would definitely rehire the team for any future renovations that we are considering down the road. We have also recommended him to other friends that are currently working on renovation projects. We had been badly burned by a contractor when we bought our house 4 years ago, so needless to say we were nervous about doing a full gut of our house (including re-doing all the previous work).
We worked with Raphael for 3 main reasons.

1. Trust & Transparency......

Within a week of meeting Raphael at our house, we had two, full detailed scopes of work, one for each floor of our house. As time went on and we decided to add on more work (ie: our kitchen), additional scopes were provided clearly outlining everything.

We knew that taking a 100 year old house down to the studs would have it's surprises, but Raphael was calm, supportive and always had a solution (which our structural engineer wholeheartedly agreed with each time!).

We met at our house every Friday morning to inspect the work that had been done, see what was being done the following week, and signed off on the work before paying. Every time I tell people this, they are shocked at this attention to detail, and dedication to the job.

Raphael was consistently responsive and even kept us on schedule when we needed to provide paint colors, tiles, appliances etc..

2. On Time, On Budget ........

We had NO surprises from Raphael and his team. Not one.

HomeBuild S.A. fully gutted and rebuilt our house (including the kitchen reno we decided to add in mid-way, the fireplace we decided to add in too, and behind-the-wall-suprises) in just 3 short months. (Again, when we mention this to friends, they are shocked there were no delays, or anything)

3. Quality of Work & His Team.......

His team worked long days (it took a small village to re-do our house - something that's not lost on us). His crew, including Andres were so friendly, and amazing at their job. Their attention to detail was incredible!!!!!!

We purchased an ikea kitchen, and Raphael even helped us with Ikea Planner to make sure that what we wanted, and what would fit properly was done right the first time.

Raphael, thank you to you and your team for making our home, Home 2.0. It was a big job, and while we were super excited to do it, we were also super nervous. With each week that went on, we started to realize what an excellent choice we made working with you :)

Rafael and his team completed the work on time and with great communication. He is very organized! We are very happy with our renovated home.

We needed some work done in our new-to-us old house including work in the basement (demolition, electrical work, plumbing, and waterproofing), as well as replacing windows and doors, attic insulation, and re-doing the driveway. Rafael and his team were easy to work with and did high quality work. They are prompt, professional, and thorough. Rafael is responsive and easy to reach by phone or email - we discovered a small issue with our radiator and contacted Rafael late on a Friday night. Rafael and his team from start to finish were nothing but professional, honest and caring. Upon meeting with Rafael I walked him through my vision of the bathroom and he offered his advice and suggestions which were very helpful. The quote was very detailed with payment structure and scope of work to every last detail. This was not a simple bathroom reno, they had to break ground, move a vent, add new plumbing and new window brick to brick. The entire job took 3 weeks. Just in time for Christmas, any issue I brought up which all were minor were addressed right away and with absolute professionalism. Rafael and his entire team care a great amount about what they do and you can see it in the quality of work they provide. Another reassuring factor for me choosing Rafael is that all work comes with a two year warranty. JUST AMAZING! I have nothing but good words to say about my whole experience with Home Build S.A. and Rafael, the company’s founder.

I’m a first-time condo owner, and purchased a slightly old condo unit. There were several renovations I wanted to do, but the main job was a complete remodelling of the kitchen. I was very overwhelmed by the number of contractors and hugely varying prices they quote. I definitely did not want to go with the cheapest quote, as we all know you get what you pay for. A friend of mine used Home Build S.A. for their kitchen and highly recommended them. I am extremely happy with the end product and can truly say the quality, service, versatility, and value Rafael provides is incomparable.

QUALITY: Rafael and his team were very detail oriented and did not cut any corners. There were no gaps in any of the countertops, no paint dripped on the ground, no leaks etc. They make sure the job gets done to the highest quality of standard.

SERVICE: Rafael is a great listener. He will go through everything you are looking for, provide his advice, then formulate a plan of action to best suite your wants and needs. I was vey pleased that Rafael and his team did a spectacular job at cleaning up and ensuring the spaces they worked in were cleaned up. He’s also very fast and good when it comes to communication.

VERSATILITY: Home Build S.A. is a one-stop shop. While the kitchen remodelling was the main job, I was able to get my walk-in closet made and minor stuff around the unit such as: installing towel racks, coat hooks etc. I just needed to Call Rafael and his team, and everything got done in one visit.

VALUE: Rafael is a very honest businessman. He does not try and squeeze you out of every penny you have, something I was noticing with other contractors. You can feel certain that the price you are quoted will be fair and a good one!

I always wanted to renovate my bathroom but I didn’t have any solid idea about the details. Rafael helped me with design and the most beautiful yet affordable fixtures . He had a great crew, very friendly, they came every day, no fooling around. They cleaned up every day, (they had to tear wall and floor to wood) and finished in a timely fashion. I am very pleased with the final result, I expect to use them again, and I would recommend his service to anyone.”

HomeBuild S.A. was recommended by our designer to renovate our master bedroom and ensuite bath and we couldn't be more pleased! Rafael and his team, Javier and Jorge, were very professional and easy to work with - no concern is too small. On the scheduled start date, Javier and Jorge showed up on time and went straight to work. Both Rafael and Javier were very responsive, answering texts or phone calls immediately. Rafael came by weekly to check on everything and outline the expectations for the following week. Even after the renovation was done, we had a few remaining items which Rafael was more than happy to complete.
We would gladly recommend them to anyone and will definitely work with them again.
