The dryer buzzer does not shut off when the dryer cycle completes and the washing machine smelt of burnt rubber and stopped, may be belt

Completed an analysis of the situation and advised my wife of the following:
1. Washing machine - after taking apart the machine a roofing nail was found lodged in the drum which prevented operation. After removal machine worked fine.
2. Dryer Buzzer not stopping - after review he recommended that he shut off the buzzer because to replace the buzzer would be over $300 and is not required for the machine to operate properly.
My wife agreed, both were repaired and he was on his way. I met him parked outside my house and thank him for doing a good job as commented by my wife.
These machines are built to last unlike the new electronic washer and dryers that are programmed to fail after 5 years, so knowing they can be repaired, we hope to get another 20 years out of them.
