When my partner and I, two naive millennials, learned that our "turn-key" ready home was in fact in need of significant renovations, we knew we were in serious trouble. We had nowhere to live, and were in desperate need of a large-scale, timely and affordable renovation project. This meant that we had to get on the phone and call general contractors - a grim realization.
We obtained quotes from 7 general contracting companies, and the quotes ranged from about $60, 000 to $200,000. Integrated Renovation Services provided a detailed, up-front, full and final quote for the entire scope of the job, and they were able to assist with creative work-arounds to stay within our limited financial means. We picked and bought the finishing materials ourselves, and agreed to 4 weeks before the start date of the project. As if this weren't enough, given the smaller size of our house, the larger scope of the job, and the hardship of our situation (paying Airbnb while covering a mortgage and construction costs), they offered us a substantial discount. Make no mistake, it was not just the price, they had the knowledge, skills, competency, and professionalism that was on-par with the most expensive general contractors.
Engineering, design, electrical, plumbing, framing, carpentry and painting elements were all meticulously taken care of, and if there was ever any issue the project-lead was always responsive with a can-do attitude. Once construction began, we continued to canvass solutions to making the project a win-win for both parties, removing two walls and installing a new powder room on the main floor at a nominal cost.
It was so nice to have this project completed on-budget and on-time, and
we couldn't be happier with the results. In the end, we have a brand new house, and even had a bit of spare money to splurge on a new fence and patio furniture in the backyard! I imagine general contracting is a thankless job, so I hope the people at Integrated Renovations know that we are so happy that we went with their company to build our new home.
