Felco Supply Fireplace And Mantel

Sent an email on September 11th through their website with photos of parts I needed to fix my fireplace. The email was ignored so I contacted Felco a month later. An appointment was set for October 24th between 11-1pm by the wife of the owner. On October 24th at 1:30pm I had to call the office to find out if Richard was coming. His wife asked me if I had an appointment? I told her yes, you booked it. He arrived 15 minutes later and spent 10 minutes at my home. He told me the cost to ensure a fix would be $120 + labour. I agreed to his price and he told me he would be in touch. I received a call from his wife 2 weeks later to tell me she was ready to order the thermocouple kit and the cost would be $240 + $280 labour + GST. The part online is $85. I told her not to go ahead and place the order. It was not the price that the owner had given me. Keep in mind 2 weeks had passed and they were finally ready to order the part! Richard then emailed me to tell me the part was ordered (not true) but it was okay if I didn’t want to proceed. He told me to expect an Invoice for the initial 10 minute visit when he was at my home and did absolutely nothing. I told him I would have gone ahead with him if his price was what we had agreed upon. The phantom invoice that I received today was for $155 less a $70 discount (the invoice didn’t even make sense.) I had used Richard (Felco) one time years ago and the experience was pleasant enough that I thought I would use him again. Big mistake. This is a bait and switch company that it also extremely slow and disorganized. They come to your home and give you a decent quote on parts but then the cost doubles. When you refuse to go forward due to their dishonesty they charge you $155 for a “service” call. Nothing was serviced at my home. Price gouging in the neighbourhood comes to mind when I think of Felco Fireplace. We have since had our fireplace repaired for a fraction of his cost. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They are not honest and will try their best to rip you off with a smile.
