We met Richard he took time to educated us about the different deck options, he was very thorough and professional. We had the pleasure to have Charlie, along with a few others working on our beautiful deck. The boys are hard workers, knowledgeable and perfectionist. They were tidy and cleaned up every night.We are over the moon with out desk.

We had an amazing experience with Serenity Decks. Richard and Allysyn took the time to educate us on the different decking options available and worked with our budget.

During construction, both Johnny and Junior were professional and very hard working. They paid attention to detail and cleaned up each night before they left. Our PVC deck looks incredible and we can't wait to enjoy it this summer. I highly recommend Serenity Decks.

We used Serenity Decks in Scarborough to build a new second storey balcony and double the size of the old one. Just a small project with 2 ground posts, clad wood deck and aluminum railings. Olga the designer was pleasant and knew her products. Johnny and his assistant (I forget his name) arrived promptly every day from start to finish and were very professional. The work is exactly as designed and of good quality. One extra request to cap an exposed part beneath a support beam was attended to the next day. No extra charge. Richard the owner had the materials and talent there on time as promised. Price for this small project was competitive. The whole job was completed, including cleanup, in under a week. We would recommend this company to any of our friends. In a world where many contractors are notoriously unreliable I would give this company 6 stars out of 5 if I could.

I hired Serenity Decks for PVC deck and I glad that I did go with them. It's been a great experience to deal with them from initial design/quote to finish line. When I was researching about good deck companies, Initially, I didn't short list them based on some reviews posted here however I decided to get quote. Olga was very professional and proposed very nice design. I was very impressed with her thought process in designing the outdoor space. Price was reasonable & inline with ongoing cost. Installation crew Charles and team really surpassed my expectations in making sure that it was according to city codes/ PVC product recommendations . Charles was very customer focus as well and kept me in loop with progress & any additional recommendations. Thanks team Serenity for building an amazing deck for us!!!

Serenity Decks was only by coincidence the second deck builder that we met with. He was suggested to us by a friend who told us other people that used Serenity. We were impressed from the start. Richard, the owner of Serenity, met with us at our home and was very positive about the size and nature of the deck that our house should have. He had great ideas. He instilled confidence with his professionalism from the get go. He then invited us to his showroom. Yes, Serenity has a showroom with samples of materials of every sort and colour. It is much better to actually see and touch the material being chosen than picking colours from a colour chart. After spending some time looking at samples of PVC decking we knew what we wanted conceptually. We told Richard and he came back into the room and laid down the colour combination that"hit the ball right out of the park". It was exactly what we imagined. The build was scheduled and started on the promised day. The deck builder was a gifted trades person and a perfectionist which satisfied us to no end. His workmanship was perfect and he was very easy to work with - a really nice guy on top of being a skilled deck builder. And one more important issue - once the build started the work continued every day until it was complete. We chose a frameless glass railing which we knew would come a few days after the deck was built. And it did and another skilled tradesman installed it. Serenity definitely puts its customer first. Richard came by the job site on more than one occasion and was hands on with the railing installation. If you want to work with a decking company that is professional, reliable and creative, and if you want to feel confident about the company you are engaging to do your project, then do not hire anyone until you have met with Richard at Serenity.

Our deck was installed in 2016 with a 2 year warranty. Overall they did a descent job. However, good thing we were home at the time, as they installed one entire section of our deck incorrectly. They had to remove and rebuild that section to correct. That mistake left numerous holes in the brickwork, which they later filled the holes but we received NO compensation. After 1 year, the deck lights (over 16) that was recommended as a nice to have, we paid for them, but then stopped working. Several calls were made to send someone to figure out why they were not working and after many delays, somebody finally showed, they looked at it and then left. That was it, nothing else was done and now late fall arrived and they could not do anything. Our 2 year warranty has gone past and to this date, the lights are still not working. These lights were not a special order type deal as they are readily sold at the big box hardware stores.
It is now 2020, we still are no further ahead then 2 years ago. Also we have noticed that when winter is upon us, the joints in our steps seem to expand and small gaps appear, where the boards are joined. We were told composite products are far more superior than cedar and one would not really have this issue. Well it doesn't seem to be true at least in our case. See photo of gap joints when the cold weather arrives. The joints are not touching even after the warmer weather arrives.
Bottom line, a lot of money was paid for our deck but the company failed to stand by their warranty and service follow up.

The work they did was outstanding and the crew were amazing, professional and courteous in building our backyard deck. Easy to deal with and very knowledgeable. Thank your for making our backyard dream come true!

This is an update to an earlier review where the project budget was listed incorrectly as $40K when it was actually $65K. We have since hired another contractor to fix the deck and structural supports of the pergola since Serenity Decks was unresponsive.
We hired Serenity Decks on a recommendation from our landscaper who we love. Sadly it was a very costly mistake.

We engaged their services for a perimeter fence, Thermory Ash deck and Pergola.

When the wood arrived for the deck it was not the material we had selected or he had quoted on. Even his installers were upset as the new material was not the same thickness and they had already done the foundation. This has created sunken areas and trip hazards around our pool coping as it is not flush. Furthermore the quality is not the same as he had assured me it would be. This material is supposed to be warrantied for 25-30 years and it has not even lasted 6 moths without cupping and cracking. They also had not secured any of the boarder boards so those are lifting.

The pergola supports were not sufficient in strength to take the weight and have cracked and now the structure is leaning.

We had tried for months to get this looked after and after several texts/emails and phone messages Richard finally came by and said he would send someone by to fix this. Months later, and after several more messages, emails, etc. no-one has shown up or returned any calls to schedule the work. Very unprofessional.

I wish I had read the reviews here prior as quite a few reiterate the lack of responsiveness from them.
I am left having to take further action and hope this review helps other homeowners avoid the costly mistake we made. Our project was just over $65,000.00 and we cannot afford to have it all re-done properly.

I would also like to add that he always bragged about other projects and made it seem like he was doing us a favour. When you spend that kind of money with a company you would expect better customer service and at the very least honour your workmanship and return phone calls.

We made the biggest mistake of our lives when we hired Richard from Serenity Decks. At first we thought that the deck looked good and that we would be happy. Then we found out that he misled us by not telling us that we needed a permit. We have been trying to contact him for the past 2 months and he never returns our calls or emails. We needed his help to get the drawing and engineer report because the city is asking us now to apply for permit. He doesn't care! There are also some areas of the deck that need attention, but he continues to ignore us. If you don't want aggravation DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

I first had contact with Jim...nicest man EVER!!
I was totally satisfied with job...very clean workers...did NOT rush...took their time and did an amazing job on my deck & fence...I was out of town and my mom was overseeing job...George ; as my mom says...was a true delight!!!
