We hired AHS to complete a concrete pad, move a fence/gate, add a new walkway, and to replace two walkways. We ended up adding new fence posts and river rock as the project went on.
The good: Sales rep (Dmytro) arrived on time to quote the project. He was knowledgeable, friendly and very responsive in further communication. They were not the only company we researched (nor the cheapest), but I liked that one company could complete multiple project areas. I like to ask a lot of questions before I hire someone to make sure I understand what I'm getting, and he was very patient. As part of the quote, we were able to use AHS' landscape design services. Kin had some great recommendations that we used in the design. He was very friendly and energetic and knowledgeable about products. The carpenters did an excellent job of the fence and gate work. Our neighbour, who shared that portion of the project was pleased as well.
The star of the entire project though was definitely Kirill who oversaw the work on site. Kirill kept us updated on the status of the project, made adjustments when things weren't to his liking (e.g., all the pavers needed replacing as he discovered they were all damaged in transit) and went above and beyond to make sure the project went smoothly. He is an excellent communicator, hard working, detail-oriented, friendly, calm, and patient.
The not so good: The crew cut the cable to the irrigation system when working on one side of the house. It turned out not to be a big deal because during the work we chose to move the access point anyway which would have required a new cable. They also cut the cable to the landscape lighting which was discovered after they left since the cut cable was in the landscaping. Texted the project manager (Ron) - no response. Ill need to arrange to have that fixed at my cost, I guess. The end of the project (small walkway with river rock) was completed by a crew new to the site and was rushed, sloppy, and completed without the care I'd come to expect to this point. Regardless of the project cost/homeowner's budget, people expect a company to treat their property with the same level of care that they would have themselves. Within 48 hours we requested an adjustment to the small walkway and Ron declined. Overall, AHS delivered what they said they would but I was disappointed on the level of detail and follow up towards the end of the project.
