We always use Summers and Smith for our yearly service of the AC and furnace. We have been using them for about 10 years and they give great service. I recommend Summers and Smith to anyone who is looking for very reliable and knowledgeable company.

I was having trouble with my gaz fireplace. Summers & Smith were very easy to engage with, provided a quick appointment and completely explained what I could expect.
The service technician, Brian, arrived well within the agreed time interval, listened to my description of the problem and was able to quickly identify the possible causes. He then made the required measurements to confirm his initial thoughts and explained the ways in which is could be resolved. He explained my options and clearly explained the pros and cons of each approach. I felt under no pressure whatsoever when he went on to explain potential improvements to the functionality of the fireplace. We will most likely be going ahead with his suggestion. I will definitely recommend Summers & Smith to my friends.

I had a no heat call on the weekend of New Year's eve. The tech told me it was $180 for the service call it is quite a large fee but needed the service. I had a friend who is in the business already diagnosis the problem and had removed the defective parts. The tech arrived and was told needed a new board which are $250 plus a igniter a $40 part. He did not advise me of any charges installed them with the help of a friend. Once done he had charged $750 for a board and $180 for a igniter oh ya plus the $180. Which should of been waived. This company is dishonest and should carry guns because they will rob u blind. Consumer beware they are not looking for your best interest but there own.

Friendly technician assessed at a charge of $134.00 (was in home 15 minutes) and said my pilot assembly was rusted and needed to be repaired for an extra $400.00 (total $534.00). The Pilot Assembly piece would have cost $110.00. Company were aware that I am on a disability pension and needed help in keeping costs down. I asked for a break on the labour cost and they wouldn't budge. Instead they were trying to up-sell me on something I didn't need. I later asked a friend (who was visiting from out of town and has experience working with gas fireplaces) look at the assembly and he cleaned it with a wire brush (took him 15-20 minutes; he advised it is something the technician could have done on initial visit. I called Summers & Smith and asked that a partial refund be given and secretary was rude---said that cost of initial visit was $134.00 (includes tax). When I asked for a technician to come out, I was assured that if they could fix it on the spot, the cost would have been inclusive of labour but if parts needed to be replaced, I would have to pay for them. Secretary said she would speak with manager and I never received a return call. This kind of treatment, inaccurate assessment has very little care or concern for a disabled person leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. Would never recommend them --especially if you are a single women or someone vulnerable and unable to verify if assessment is truthful. I think they thought they could pull the wool over my eyes and they almost did. I gave one star because the service call was a quick response to my concern....albeit it, unprofessional.

We have used this company three times and was always left amazed and satisfied with the quality of product, professional and responsive customer service. The true mark of this company are the technicians that come to our home. We recently had a new furnace installed and technicians Brad and Andrew are true professionals. I would recommend this company hands down.

My furnace died, leaving me in a tough spot during a recent cold snap. While I interviewed 4 different contractors, these guys stood out immediately as polished and professional. The salesperson, Kevin, was informative, knowledgeable and not at all pushy, and efficiently came to an easy-to-understand quote. He even immediately engaged the third party energy auditor and booked an appointment on the spot.
The company then was able to shuffle other customers who weren't in a no heat situation to accommodate me, and showed up when they said they would.
The two installers were excellent, efficient, and friendly. I sat through the entire job with them and watched the work, and they politely answered all of my questions even though very busy. When some unforeseen changes happened, the main furnace installer (second installer worked on air conditioning which I also replaced) Mike adjusted with a minimum of fuss, and it was obvious from watching him work that's he's very good at what he does and takes pride in his work.
Summers and Smith wasn't the least expensive quote I was given, but if you want a quality install by a company that operates professionally and with a minimum of bulls**t, I'd recommend them and would gladly call them again for other work.
I can tell you from having over 20 contractors in to quote over the past year for various projects (older home) that these guys operate the way you expect someone too, as compared to some real head-shakers I encountered -- which seems to be unfortunately becoming the norm.

Talk about a superb experience from start to finish! We hire a lot of contractors to do work at our home, and its very rare to have such an excellent experience from start to finish. We first called Summers & Smith after being taken advantage of by our previous water heater rental company.

Summers & Smith came onsite informed us of where we were being taken advantage of and even fixed the damage to our AC unit that the previous company did by wiring our AC backwards at no charge!

They completely cleaned up our furnace room in a very tidy organized way, our new furnace looks great, out new AC looks great our house is so much more comfortable and modernized.

Our install was done by Dave & Dylan - these guys are FANTASTIC nothing but good things to say about these guys! Work very clean, very polite, super friendly - EXCELLENT around our young kids - just a stellar stellar job! Great great crew they work so well together.

My family has been dealing with Summers and Smith for years. For home service as well as at our business. We have always had excellent customer service. Most recently we have been dealing with Scott, he is great. Knowledgable, prompt and friendly. S&S are quick to send someone out in an emergency and get us up and running again. Great company!

Old furnace broke down, called Summers and Smith for a quote. Blair was very informative and helpful. They were quick to response and replace the furnace the next day once we accepted the quote. Scott and Bryan, the installers were professional, clean and quick. Took the time to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend Summers and Smith. Looking forward to them servicing and maintaining our new furnace.

Scott, of Summers & Smith was a life saver for us. We had purchased a dual fuel range to replace an old electric one we had had for many years. We had a gas outlet in the kitchen from the original builder and thought it would be no problem to hook up the new range to the outlet. However, we didn’t realize until the machine was delivered that our new range had a cover in the middle of its rear which limited the optimal locations for the gas pipe to be run along the left side of the wall and the electric cord along the right side. However, on our wall, both outlets were centred. A previous contractor had suggested that the only way we could make the current set-up work was to relocate our gas outlet to the left of the wall and use an electrician to move the 240V electric outlet to the right.

Scott was extremely positive in all his dealings with us. Always smiling and always showing empathy for potential issues that arose. He was also very creative. He had the idea to lower the gas outlet without using any new materials, instead of moving it, and he was also able to flip the electric outlet 180 degrees so that it wasn’t in the way of the gas valve. This way both the gas line and the electric cord could be snaked below the middle cover and weren’t in the way of one another. His solution also allowed the entire range to be pushed flush against the wall. He did a great job for us, in a short time, with minimal materials, and because we didn’t have to call an electrician we saved a lot of money.
We also had Scott clean our two fireplaces that same morning. He was very efficient and responsible. As he was putting together the invoice, he noticed that the glass door on one of the fireplaces had become a bit cloudy again. He immediately disassembled the door and cleaned it a second time without charging us for the extra time. He was very thoughtful, knowledgeable and thorough. He was also very customer oriented and thought outside the box, saving us both time and money.
