After the implementation of new building codes relating to radon management in Edmonton, we decided to test our 65-year-old house for radon levels. I found Barry by following links on Health Canada's site, and he was very prompt in replying to any emails I sent.
He set up a long-term test kit in our partially finished basement, and returned after 95 days to read the levels. He sent a final report including a breakdown of radon standards and any recommendations on the same day.

After hearing of Radon contamination on the local news we contacted Barry at Radontech to provide us with a long term Radon test in our home. We met and found Barry to be very knowledgeable about Radon and Radon testing, and provided us with all the information we were seeking. He setup and left the long term Radon test kit in November of 2015 and ended the test the first week of February 2016 (90+ days). At the end of the test we were given the results immediately, followed by a written report to keep for our house records, especially good to have when deciding to sell in the future. Back in November, the first radon test on our house came back high. We didnt know what to do. Initially we called radontech to seek radon mitigation. Barry was very helpful with explaining everything to us. Turns out we had used a short term kit and needed to do a long term test before we considered mitigation. Barry was objective in his advice on how to move forward with the long term test by using either a test kit or going with a professional. There was no pressure at all. We decided to hire radontech anyway. Showed up 15 minutes late. But Barry was very informative and helpful. He explained the process and contract clearly, set up the test and came back about three months later to read our results. It was nice that we got our results immediately, compared to the kit where we had to mail the kits out to a lab in the US. l.
