Tornado Plumbing & Drains

Sergiy and crew arrived on the morning of the scheduled start date and made quick work of the excavation process. Some parts were a bit tricky to get to (I.e. crawl space underneath sunroom) and challenging due to limited space as a result of permanent structures (staircase posts) they did not hesitate to dig this out by hand and meticulously avoided disrupting the integrity of the posts holding up these structures. In fact, a couple estimates that I obtained, felt charging almost double was warranted for the uniqueness of these areas. I liked that Sergiy did not make a kerfuffle about it and priced it the same per linear foot as the rest, he treated it as "no sweat" moment where all 4 other quotes made mention of it to various degrees. It was a large project with over 137 linear feet at a depth of approximately 5 feet and Tornado finished before the stated completion timeframe. As this house is an income property it was imperative to have a quick turnaround time to ensure the homeowner could get a renter in as quickly as possible and they accomplished just that. Sergiy clearly stands by his work with a 25 year guarantee and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again in the future however to improve his service I'd ask that he take note of areas where Tornado came up short for me:
1. Cigarette butts smoked by crew being properly disposed of - many found in gravel, soil, and lawn
2. All waste being properly disposed of - had to make run to the dumpster to dispose of very heavy disconnected iron drain pipes left on lawn after crew left jobsite and excess soil placed under stairs will need to be carted away
3. If shrubs are to be removed I would have liked them to attempt to save them if it could be done
4. If a stage in the process that was mentioned in the estimate is to be omitted due to circumstances then the customer should be informed immediately (I.e. opted not to use yellow jacket due to discovering large protrusions in stone foundation)
5. Following up with waste bin company to schedule pick up- it was left blocking garage door for one week whereby passers-by in the neighbourhood ended up throwing dog waste bags in and a few miscellaneous bags of trash items that the bin company just dumped beside the driveway before hauling the bin away
6. A confirmation email beforehand to indicate the scheduled start time and date. I agreed to use Toronado over text and wasn't completely convinced they would show the morning of but Sergiy is a man of his word. Nonetheless, it would've still been nice to have something in formal writing
7. Down spout (SW Corner) removed but was not replaced

These are not deal breakers for me but are the reasons I could not give a 5 star rating.

Serghey was wonderful. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and walked me through every step of the repair process. The pictures shown detail the work that was done- he cleaned out the sump pump pit which was filled with calcium deposits, cleaned out the pipes and replaced the pipes/valves which could not be cleaned. He was thorough and transparent throughout the process. I would highly recommend him and Tornado Plumbing.

Late at night, backed up drain, what do I do? Early next morning get on line with Homestars and insert search word blocked drain and many names come up. Picked the 1st on the list, Tornado and gave them a call.
Sergiy answered, told him my problem and he said someone would be there between 8 & 9 am. Yuri arrived at allotted time surveyed the scene, quoted and said he could do the job on same day. Dug up concrete floor, replace clogged elbow plus, new concrete, plus clean-up and price as quoted. Fair price, worked steady, workmanship appears good, would recommend.

After doing some searching on HomeStars getting a few quotes we decided to hire Tornado Plumbing and WOW what an amazing job they did! Sergiy was responsive with our requests and his team finished on schedule as promised (and they didn’t leave any mess). The whole team we’re very professional and provided a very reasonable quote.
We would definitely recommend Sergiy and his team and will be calling them back with our future plumbing needs.

Santina is the assistant and she is extremely friendly, efficient and reassuring. Bathtub faucet wouldn’t stop dripping which had started on a Saturday early evening. They couldn’t do anything until Monday. Sergei came at the specified time in the early afternoon on Monday but he couldn’t do anything without the right cartridge. I saved some money by going to pick up the cartridge myself and Sergei came back a few hours later to fix it before going to another job which I appreciated. Would call them again if I had any other plumbing issues.

i used them this third time to clear stubborn kitchen drain which was clogged- again Sergei came through and solved my problem fully, timely and fairly . he then fixed up the laundry pipes to ensure fully effective and to avoid future problems.

From request to final installation, no short of an amazing experience. Santina was great with prompt responses, keeping me up-to-date and adjusting to our every changing schedule. Yuriy was equally as amazing in letting us know what was going to be done and doing it. Very good rates, excellent customer service, on-time and left our house cleaner than when they came in (in the area where they worked)! You couldn't ask for anything more. HIGHLY recommended!

There was a crack on our wall and water came in a bit after heavy rain. We asked for a few quotes and chose Tornado.
Sergei and his co-worker came at 9am, left at 7pm, worked for 10 hours!
The job is nicely done. They did all Sergei promised during estimation. And they cleaned afterwards.
