Hercules destroyed two of the four pieces delivered from Toronto to Calgary. The estimated cost to repair the two pieces is $1,100 plus dollars. The furniture had not been wrapped or protected for shipping. Hercules don't stand by their work. I wouldn't recommend them!
- Approximate cost of services:
- $850.00
- Company Response
Dear client,
We are sorry to hear about your negative experience with our company, but I would like to clarify some things first.
First, we didn't destroyed your furniture, the damage happened when CN driver moved a container without warning us.
Second, you have refused to purchase replacement protection before booking the move. Based on signed contact and Canadian freight and transportation standards, if the client refuses to purchase additional coverage protection, in this case of the damage, the client is compensated at $0.60/lb per item. This is not only our policy, it is provincial standard of carries across Canada. When we send you the contract, we also expect you to read it prior to signing it, and understand the policies under which we operate.
Third, the movers at the delivery address has offered you a compensation for the damaged furniture that is based on the $0.60/lb to the final bill and you have also signed the document. If you refer to the details of our policy, it states that once the client accepts compensation of the damage, the company is no longer liable for additional compensation.
Fourth, you have send us estimate invoice for repairing your damage furniture. Unfortunately this company which provided you the estimate wasn't legally registered nor provided HST number.
Once again, please accept our apologies.
Yours truly,
Hercules Moving Company.
