Jspec was was replacing the roof next door and I asked if they would be willing to replace mine. Jason generously took the time to have a look and take the measurements. A very reasonable quote arrived the same day and we initiated the project. Justin and Jason and their team were courteous, clean, fast, and efficient. They were great communicators and responded promptly and patiently to any questions I had. Really nice guys. I was very pleased with the outstanding quality of the work and the attention to detail. I would certainly recommend JSpec to anyone.

We dreamed of having a rooftop deck installed from the day we moved into our house. Given the concerns around having a rooftop deck on top of a flat roof, we were worried about using a traditional deck builder that might not know/care about the risks of damaging the flat roof beneath the deck. We found Jspec/Justin on Homestars and were extremely impressed when he came by to look at our house and prepare a quote. Justin is honest, patient, responsive and takes pride in the quality work that Jspec does. Our rooftop deck is now two years old and is still the envy of our neighbours (and no leaks or any other issues). We were so happy with Justin and his team that we had them renovate our basement this spring as well.

Justin, Jason and their crew did a fantastic job with my flat roof and deck. This is a highly professional team that pays attention to detail and works well and efficiently together. Justin even found ways to cut costs without compromising the quality of the work and made additional repairs throughout the project. And to top things off, Jason searched around multiple stores for a clothesline so he could install it before leaving. I LOVE these guys! You can't go wrong with this team.

UPDATE: JSPEC came through for us again. A recent wind storm sheared a few shingles off our roof (not JSPEC's work mind you; this was old work from a prior owner's renovation). Called JSPEC for help and they made sure they got out to us for a repair before the next rain. I can only imagine how busy they are (every third house seems to be having work done these days) and we very much appreciate them making us feel like a priority!

Justin and his team at JSPEC managed to make our flat roof repair a pleasure. I would say my wife and I made the decision to pursue the rebuild of the flat roof on our nearly 100-year old home but that wouldn't be completely accurate. The water leakage made that decision for us. As we had never used a roofing company in the past, we asked friends and family for references and obtained a few quotes. Justin was also very patient in going through all the questions I had though I learned a lot from his professional and detailed quote. We moved into our home 3.5 years ago and noticed recently some shingles falling off and a lot of curling in general (shingles were previously done in 2003, 17 years ago). We didn't want to risk and leaks or damage to the home so started getting quotes. Many companies were either overpriced and the one that was underpriced seemed to be a bit shady/poor work when I referenced online reviews. I found out 2 of my close friends had gone through Justin at Jspec so I decided to reach out. Justin was professional and provided a reasonable quote, with the flat roof at the back of our home quoted separately. We decided to hold off on the flat thinking we can get a few more years out of it (many know that flat roofs are more expensive to replace) but knew the shingles needed to be taken care of at the front of our house. Once I decided to go with Justin he reached out quickly to schedule the work. When his crew came over they were friendly and professional. They put our outdoor furniture back just as it previously was after the job, and treated the working area with respect. They performed a solid sweep afterwards leaving not a trace behind. We are so pleased with the appearance of our new roof, and know the shingles are high quality (I did my research on shingles brands). I had intended to do both roofs (Sloped/Flat) in the spring, but a fall leak on the flat roof prompted me to call J Spec in a panic. They were quick to quote, competitively priced and were able to accommodate my advanced schedule.

It was a 2-day job (Sloped Roof – Day 1/ Flat Roof Day 2). They tarped where they were working, removed all the old materials (lots of old layers of shingles) via trailer and cleaned up the property after they were all done. Spotless – not a single roofing nail to be found. There were a couple of roof vents to install as well as some flashing. The quality and workmanship are evident…these guys know what they are doing.
