I'll wait a couple of weeks to be sure the freezer doesn't ice up again (the problem has been ongoing since August and I had another company, not on Homestars, look at the fridge before Repair Care).
I want to post a cautiously-optimistic review now. First, my speech impairment makes it difficult for me to talk over the phone, so thank you for communicating with me by e-mail. Next, thank you for the technician who came the day after I requested service. Your technician read my notes about the fridge before he started work. He cleared the ice build-up from the freezer, tested the freezer and found and replaced a faulty defrost thermostat. The technician also checked out the fridge part.
Labour costs were exactly what you quoted in your e-mail, and the faulty part was replaced during the same visit. Labour costs were much cheaper than "the other company." I hope the problem is properly diagnosed and fixed now, but will call Repair Care for any future repairs. My thanks!
Added Oct 19: The problem seems to be solved! There's no ice build-up in the freezer and the fridge part is cooling properly. Thank you again, Repair Care!
