Excel Heating And Air Conditioning

I hired Excel Heating and Air Conditioning to replace our older single stage natural vent furnace with a new modulating high efficiency furnace. I went through the process of receiving three quotes and ended up selecting Blake from Excel. I chose Blake not only for price but also in confidence that I would receive a quality installation based on all the questions I asked. I was looking for a furnace solution that would be highly efficient and make my basement more comfortable. Before the new furnace, my basement would always be around 3 to 5 degrees cooler than the main level. We ended up separating (zoning) the main level from the basement. Now I can control the temperature of the basement and it is very comfortable. Additionally, Blake is the only contractor that performed an ACCA heat load calculation to size the furnace to the home based on numerous energy efficiency upgrades over the years. We ended up replacing a 100,000 BTU input furnace with a 60,000 BTU furnace that modulates down to 24,000 BTU. Another contractor did not want to do the heat load calculation and simply wanted to replace the furnace with a similar BTU output as the old one, while the other contractor simply suggested a lower BTU furnace without performing any calculation. Blake is highly knowledgeable at his trade, very professional, and his finished installation shows attention to detail. I could not be more pleased with his service.
