Gut-Job Reno

Ive posted some glowing reviews on this site. Unfortunately, this isnt one of them.

Hydron was engaged to plumb our entire house (PEX lines) for approx. $25k. I got a bad feeling after our first city inspection when the inspector asked Hydron why they installed the basement drains the way they did and they couldnt answer. So, he moved on and asked why they used the pipes they did, to which they said because they were on the truck that morning! He asked for a drain plan before leaving, came back for a follow-up inspection and asked for the plan again, noting that he was happy that at least HE didnt have to live here (he didnt know I was the homeowner). I followed up with inspector later and he said they he never received the drain plan.

There were key plumbing specifications from our architect that Hydron either missed or installed improperly as well. They were to install 1 PEX line per fixture but missed 3 lines. I had to drills holes into my ceiling, floor, walls and dig through insulation to provide them later with another contractor. Hydron installed our sewage ejector too close to a firewall for the required fire-proof drywall, so the inspector forced us to re-install the piping to accommodate the drywall. The sewage ejector wasnt installed as per the manufacturers directions and was missing a union as well as a ball valve. Our specified cast iron main stack was installed with PVC instead. The specified basement shut-off was never installed. Dave was nice enough on the phone and via emails, but the work speaks for itself.

We got through $16k in payments and ended up going with another contractor for the rest. I wasnt going to post this review but I just visited their website and found photos of our house in their promo material, without our permission. (Ive asked them to take them down).

plumbing job

Amazing service! Our home inspection found a leak in the basement, and then a few other leaks along with a filthy smell turned up. We honestly thought this would cost us a fortune, but luckily Youhan saved us! All of our problems turned out to be fairly simple, and Youhan explained everything in great detail as he was fixing things late in the evening. He was very patient, nice & friendly. He went above and beyond of what was asked of him and even sawed down a piece of wood that was in a way of placing the washer properly and turned down the water temperature (we were afraid our toddler may get burned). Every single job was perfectly done and i couldn't be more then happy with the outstanding service. He will be our personal home plumber from now on and I cant imagine calling anyone else! :) Thank you Youhan!

Kitchen faucet

Dave from Hydron Plumbing was punctual and professional, and very patient while I slowly took in the fact that I had to replace my leaky not-so-old faucet. He was a big help in choosing the right new one to buy and quick to install it. His fee for the whole job was more than reasonable. I highly recommend him.

Bathroom Renovation

I employed David and Youhan to completely gut my basement bathroom back to the studs and rebuild it with high quality finishes. Their work is impeccable. They were punctual, communicative and by far the best quote I had, which was made even better by the assistance they gave me with sourcing my finishes. I want to dress the room before I post pictures - I will do at the end of the week.
