Total condo renovation mid Toronto

Andrew and his team helped plan the total renovation of our new condo. He made this transition so much more easy than we were expecting. Andrew delivered more than we anticipated and met the deadline. Thanks so much. The Lipmans

Unfortunately zero is the lowest rating offered

I have renovated numerous homes over the past years and Andrew is without a doubt the most unscrupulous , self absorbed contractor I have ever met. Unfortunately I didn’t heed the review of the last person who gave ALO a zero rating, it would have saved a lot of pain. It is mid April and a job that was promised to be finished by mid January is still not done. The fact that Andrew disappeared for five weeks at one point and then for other periods of time didn’t help. Then there is the workmanship, or should I say lack of workmanship . The list is too long to post but I am now paying an actual contractor to fix all of Andrew’s pathetic work ( and that is being kind) . I have heard of contractor horror stories and now I have my own. Run, don’t walk away if you are even considering using ALO. too many examples to list , but the picture shows Andrew’s “professional”installation of a garden door

Dear Private User

We certainly did not abandon the jobsite for any period of time. While I did go on vacation for 2 weeks in January 2019, we were in constant communication during that time. As you have noted, the gas line had not been completed by Enbridge as of that time (a process that was entirely outside of our scope or control). Due to the natural gas line not being completed and the Doors for the first and second floor not being on site, (which were also outside of our scope of work) there was no work available for us to complete during that period of time. We are working diligently to remedy minor deficiencies, including the installation of the cover strip for the screws pictured.

We're still dealing with the work that was left behind by Alo.

It was clear from the start that Andrew was juggling too many projects and we were clearly not a priority. The level of service was so low that we had to part ways with Andrew before the project was complete. We wasted over $450 on replacing LED MR16 bulbs, which Andrew installed. These bulbs are no-name brands and do not work. They also get VERY hot and then turn off, which could potentially be a fire hazard. Andrew replaced our 6" pot-lights with LED retrofits. We asked several times (in writing) for 2700K colour LEDs (a warmer colour light). Despite this request, Andrew installed 3K (harsh hospital white light) without telling us. We also paid Andrew to open our wall and run power and HDMI cables through it as we had indicated that we wanted to hang our TV where he was installing the cable/power. The HDMI cables that he selected were 40 feet long and do not work, so we are unable to use the TV. Additionally, when Andrew opened the wall he did not advise us of the necessary reinforcement required behind the dry wall in order to hang the TV. Consequently, we closed the wall up and painted over.

We are left still dealing with loose ends from the work that Alo did and found it very difficult communicating with Andrew. As a result we would not recommend the service.

MASTER ENSUITE WITH STEAM SHOWER

WE HIRED ANDREW AND HIS CREW TO TAKE ON OUR MASTER ENSUITE.... TO TRANSFORM A BASIC BUILDER LAYOUT TO A FREE STANDING TUB AND STEAM SHOWER. ANDREW WAS INVOLVED EVERY STEP OF THE WAY HELPING WITH THE TILING, TO THE PAINT COLOURS AND RECOMMENDATIONS THAT MAY HAVE BEEN OVER SEEN.
HIS CREW IS RELIABLE, PROFESSIONAL AND EXTREMELY WELL EQUIPPED FOR THE JOB. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM FOR ALL OF OUR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS.

New deck build

We hired Andrew and his team at A.L.O Design Build Group to come and fix a renovation that a previous contractor had destroyed. The team was professional, on time, efficient, did a phenomenal job and were very reasonably priced. We couldn't be happier with the work they did. They were a pleasure to work with and we will for sure be using them again for other renovation projects in our home.
