stairs

In the morning of September 24/2014 we agreed to a contract for the installation of the stairs by October the 25, 2014. It was completed behind schedule. However, it was beyond their control as I have now confirmed with the parts manufacturer.
The stairs were satisfactory. The welding on the stringer was off by about 3/8" so wood treads had to be adjusted to make them look straight and reinstalled. The paint peel off but they fixed this properly by sanding and repainting. Herzel addressed every problem we had and I am satisfied with the result. He really wants to keep customers happy and we were one of the pickiest customers.

They have very skilled workers like Mark and Richard but they do have some organization challenges. However, due to their commitment to their customers, any problems that may arise they were able to address in a satisfactory manner.

Approximate cost of services:
$10,000.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
Be honest about their timing
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
I would only book them if time is not important

In the morning of September 24/2014 we agreed to a contact for the installation of the stairs by October the 25, 2014. It was completed 2 months behind schedule only after threatening them with legal action. Included in the 2 months were about 5 appointments that were missed and I had to stay home from work and use my vacation time. Herzel had an excuse for every missed appointment and even though they may have been valid after 3 it was getting very tiresome and my wife and family had a very stressful time. As an example, an appointment made for 10am, turned to 130pm and eventually they showed up at 530pm. Other days they never showed up or called to cancel,

The stairs were satisfactory but not perfect. The welding on the stringer was off by about 3/8" so wood treads had to be cut after installation to make them look straight and reinstalled. The paint peeled off and had to be redone after sanding. The fasteners for the treads had broken heads because the first installer had forgotten to predrill the holes. They had to be taken out one by one and redone.

They have excellent workers like Mark and Richard but it seems they have organization/overbooking challenges and as a result the customer pays with frustration and poor quality.
