When we bought our house in 2008, we knew that we had to do some renovations. We never thought that we would commit to a full gut and reno inside and out, but that is the way most home projects start isn't it? Since 2008 we have dealt with numerous contractors of which, I can count on one hand how many I would highly recommend to family and friends without hesitation. Plaster Perfect is one of those companies I would highly endorse.
We came across Zsolt's work upon seeing a new development and the beautiful stucco on the house. We approached the homeowner who had only wonderful things to say about Zsolt and his crew, and we knew this would be our stucco contact.
As we had other work that was required on the house in conjunction with the stucco, we had contacted a family member to do the stonework on our house (only recently did I find out Zsolt’s company does stonework too!). Once our family member found out that we were going to contract out the stucco, he was persistent that he could do the stucco as well. Being family, we didn't know how to say “no” and hesitantly let him proceed. That is where the issues started.
Upon the family member applying the finishing coat to one side of the house, we knew we were in trouble. We asked him to stop immediately, and called Zsolt out to do the remediation. He was so kind and thoughtful. He gave us his honest opinion (although we knew before he even came out that the whole scratch/finish coat would have to be re-done) and that is when we knew we were in the right hands.
The timing and process for the work was clearly communicated. Zsolt's crew was fantastic, hardworking and very clean. They took the extra time and effort to make sure that our previous investments (stone, new windows, doors, etc.) were protected during the project. He had to do more work on the house (fixing the previous stucco done by our family member), then he expected but he stuck with the original quote he proposed. Best of all our terrible stucco is now beautiful and we get compliments on a daily basis.
I wish there more contractors in Calgary like this one. Zsolt ensures that at the end of the day he does his best to execute what the homeowner envisions. Zsolt will definitely be our “stucco guy" for future projects. I couldn't have asked for a better contractor/experience.
Sorry for the long winded review, but all too often I think we write reviews if we have had negative dealings with a contractor and easily forget to communicate to the public when we have had a great experience.
