Avenue Road Masonry

From beginning to end the whole process was made very easy. We spoke to two other masonry companies and found Avenue Road to be the most informative, responsive and at the best price. Chris came out twice to help talk through our options. The team that arrived (Dan and Greg) were hassle free and went above what we thought they would do. Even finding other problems and fixing them at no extra charge. Seriously could not be happier. Will definitely be using them in the future.

Our experience with Avenue Road Masonry was 10/10 from first contact to follow up after it was completed. Chris and Robert and their team showed a strong attention to detail; did excellent work on the timeline we agreed upon; were respectful of the neighbours; and kept the work sites very clean and well organized. They replaced bricks, did tuck-pointing, replaced concrete sills, repaired two porch pillars, and did a big parging job on our exterior basement which is above grade. After the work was completed they came by to do a quality check and to make sure we were satisfied with the work. It was a great experience. Thank you!

I had Avenue Road masonry come to brick up a doggie door and relocate an exhaust vent and I am so thrilled that I used them. From quoting to scheduling to the smile on the faces of the workers to complete the job, to invoicing and follow up…each step was seamless. A truly professional operation. Wish more contractors would be like them!

My 1940s era chimney was in bad shape. I called Avenue Road Masonry for a quote and Chris came the next day. He spent nearly 30 minutes with me during our initial consultation taking drone photos and patiently explaining the various options. He followed up with a quote the next day and pricing was very reasonable.

We ended up doing a full rebuild of the top 9 rows of brick, grinding out and tuckpointing the remainder of the chimney, laying a precast concrete cap, replacing top flue tiles, and installing animal screen hats. The entire job (including scaffolding setup) took 1.5 days and the two workers were very tidy and professional. The project manager Robert came to our site on both days to ensure we were happy with the job. Our chimney looks as good as new!

I am especially impressed with post-job follow through. We had a small issue with the neighbour and Robert managed all the communications even after the job was complete, negotiating a favourable outcome for all parties. Most contractors would have left us in the wind, but Avenue Road Masonry followed through all the way until the very end. We will definitely use this company again.

Our, recently purchased, house (1949 Victory Home) had siding put over top of the brick in the 70s. We decided to look into pulling off the siding. We called around to a few places with many giving quick numbers over the phone without really seeing the brick. Sean made the time to come over and assess the brick zero cost and zero pressure. Sean stated that the brick was in pretty good condition and to keep him updated as we removed more and more siding. We eventually found some rough patches of brick and consulted Sean about fixing them. Robert came over next to see the brick and helping us choose a proper replacement. Finally, Chris, Daniel, and Brian showed up to do the work. We had initially decided on a limited number of bricks to replace but once we saw the quality of their work we over doubled the amount of bricks. They were at our house for 4 long days and I got to check in on the progress which was very satisfying to watch. Chris, Daniel, and Brian all took the time to chat, explain the process, give recommendations, and show off the sweet tools they had. They showed their skill and creativity everywhere but all our neighbours have come to marvel at the rebuilt milk door sill. It was a pleasure having them around. They made our house feel whole again. I will definitely use Avenue Road Masonry for all future projects.

Outstanding work from Avenue Road Masonry. Greg and Dan were a pleasure to have on site and were professional from start to finish. They created the rough window opening through a very thick foundation, installed 2 lintels for the double brick above, and tied everything in neatly with brick at the top and parging at the sides.

Looking forward to getting some more work done in the new year.

Avenue Road Masonry was very quick and prompt to provide a quote for a door sill replacement via email. They were also available by phone for additional follow-up questions. My door sill was made of poured concrete which deteriorated and cracked. Avenue Road Masonry suggested to replace it with limestone. After the quote/contract was signed, they were able to schedule the work a week later. The job took a few hours to complete and two people who came to do the work were professional and courteous.

After extensive research, we hired Avenue Road Masonary. The project involved demolishing the old concrete steps, installing new footings, constructing new concrete steps with rebar, cladding the steps in Banis stone, and repairing the red brick pillars and the side of the house. We couldn’t be more happier with the outcome. From the beginning of the project Chris and Robert were professional with regular communication about the scope of the work and steps involved. Don, the mason, is a master. He did a beautiful job, left the site clean everyday, and went out of his way to repair a retaining wall. You won’t find a better company!!

Sean, who came to give the estimate was a delight as were Mark and Leroy, who came days after to repair the superficial cracks. Each performed their duties with cheer and consummate professionalism.
