A/C repair

I had my 12y old AC repaired recently by EN Blue. The evaporator coil was leaking so it had to be replaced. I worked with two other HVAC contractors in the past 3 years, and was very unhappy with their service: from mishandled service call by the original installer while the system was still under warranty to an exorbitantly expensive leak test (1h with a leak detector for 700$+) followed by pressuring me to change the whole system.
Totally different experience with EN Blue. We discussed repair vs replacement and considering that I have a high-end AC system with everything else being in good shape we concluded that replacing the coil was the right choice, with a cost less than a quarter of the cost of a mid-range new system. The two technicians who did the repair, Stewart and Stefan, were honest, competent and professional. Overall I am very pleased with the entire experience.
This is an unsolicited review, EN Blue never asked for it. The other contractor however, who did the leak test, explicitly asked for a review and even hinted for a 5 star review, it was just incredible. The only good part of that request is that I learned that this homestars site exists.
I usually don't write reviews, period. But I felt that EN Blue is a dying breed in the HVAC business and they deserve some "public" recognition.

Detecting and repairing gas leak.

Stefan was quick and efficient and found the problem right away. We had another company out to check and they claimed there was no problem. Stefan found 3 leaks and repaired them promptly. He was polite and very informative. He was respectful of me as well as our home.

FANTASTIC Customer Service! Honest, and Expert.

14 year old furnace from another firm. Woke up with no heat. Every other firm busy all over town, 3 day wait offered. EN Blue was also busy, but the service manager, Norm, walked me through the simplest possible causes on the phone. Still no solution. Then Norm came to my house personally and fixed the problem. It was a busted sensor. The house was warm and toasty by noon! FANTASTIC. This was 10 out of 10 service already.

But 6 weeks later.. I woke up, again to a cold house. I called EN Blue, and Sandra, put me through to Norm immediately. I told him the new symptoms, he walked me through a few simple steps to see if we could fix it. Turns out the batteries in the thermostat had gone dead. I put in new batteries, and it all worked again. Home is heating as I write this.

They didn't even ask for payment, or anything else for this. And I would not have objected to paying for professional and timely advice, after all, my furnace now works!

All I can do to thank them them is say how impressed I am with their service, and professionalism, and their commitment to long term customer relationships.

I will be an EN Blue customer for life now. They earned my commitment.

They have my business!

Furnace/Aircon Maintenace and Transferring Warranties

When my mother bought a house the previous owner didn't leave behind any paper work. A bit of detective work uncovered that the furnace and air-conditioner had been installed by EN Blue. Sandra at EN Blue let us know that it was possible to transfer the name on the warranties for both items and was very helpful in sorting out what turned into an adventure with the manufacturer to get the transfers completed. EN Blue definitely looks out for their customers.

Furnace

I called three different contractors for quotes and ultimately chose EN Blue (Home Depot). Their price was good but even more importantly they took the time to really explain options and make sure i was buying what i needed...no more and no less. They also took a very detailed look at my furnace and the surrounding ductwork and pointed out some pretty big issues that i had never noticed before. The installation crew was on time, efficient, clean, very friendly/helpful and quick.

Gas furnace

When we were looking to replace our oil furnace with a new gas furnace, we got quotes from 5 places. EN Blue were not quite the cheapest, but far from the most expensive. And since the furnace they were offering was far superior to the cheaper Goodman furnaces, we felt they were the best value. The sales person was great and really seemed to know her stuff. She also broke out the costs and when we saw it would be cheaper to hire our own contractor to remove the old oil tank, she happily deducted the cost from our invoice and agreed it made more sense for us to go that route. We were also considering an air conditioner, but she honestly told us that since there weren't enough return ducts upstairs, it wouldn't properly cool the place, so we should get the ducts fixed first before investing in central AC. We appreciated her honesty and her focus on energy efficiency. She also told us the 2-step furnace was more efficient that the more expensive multi-step furnace. When we looked into it, we found she was right about that too. We were very comfortable dealing with the company. The installers also did a great job, and laid down tarp to keep everything tidy and avoid scratches to our floor. Our furnace has been great and has cut our heating bill in half versus our old oil furnace! The entire experience was very positive and when we do get AC, we definitely plan on going with EN Blue.

air conditioning

my nuildedr supplied air conditioner failed after running 6 years. This firm did not try to just sell me an upgrade nor the same size. They actually calculated the capacity I required, told me about government rebates and "green" options. The install was professional and the area was spotless and there was no complaints about the tight spaces. i will go back to them when the builder furnace quits.
