Horrible Company

Missing items and broken computers. Cost me $1,400 to replace two of the screens on our MAC computers. Broken hutch and damage to our very expensive washer and driver. When we discussed with the company they basically brushed us off. Only after we threatened to sue them they agreed to pay $500 only after we signed a document that we would not leave negative reviews. Go ahead That Guy Vanlines sue me. I just hope this message finds someone before they hire this horrible company.

HORRIBLE COMPANY, DRIVING ABILITY AND JUDGEMENT!

New neighbours at the very end of the street hired this moving company. Instead of just backing out onto the main road when they were leaving (small town, quiet road) they decided to come around the cul de sac - duh! Almost hit two cars, the fire hydrant and decided to run over our staked off lawn that we had just planted a couple months prior. We asked the company for $50 for seeds and soil to fill up the huge indent in our lawn from the truck driving over it. They said they couldn’t see the damage (sent pics) so I thought I’d share a video our neighbour was kind enough to share with me. I would NEVER hire THAT GUY VAN LINES to move anything. Obviously they don’t care about someone’s property. Check out our video on youtube THAT GUY VAN LINES - NEW LAWN CRUSHER

I would not recommend using this company for any local move

For the local move (I was moving 5 minutes from the origin), they quoted between $120 to $140/hr. Two guys showed up an hour late with a small truck even though when quoted I advised there were a lot of items to move. .Although the guys were very careful and pleasant, it took them 2 loads to move everything and a total of 8 1/2 hours (even with us doing 6 of our own pick up truck loads ourselves and us helping unload the moving truck at the destination) .....at $140 an hour. I was charged for the time the truck broke down first time where we had to call to get it jacked and a second time in the driveway when the steering failed and they had to call a tow truck to remove it.
When I mentioned the hours, travel, and break down times, the guys asked if I wanted to talk to the manager as she was there because the truck was getting towed. They went to get her. she walked towards me and said "what's your problem?" and I explained. She attempted to argue with me and said that it wouldn't take more time to do 2 loads as it would to do one... she took off 1/2 hour cost for travel and said that she would take a look at the provincial move time and would get back to me to resolve the lengthy time this move took. I have left 2 messages for her since and have not heard back. They have charged the credit card full price and apparently do not care once payment has been processed. The cost of the local move (a 5 minute drive) was over half of the cost for the provincial move.
I would not recommend this company for any local moves.

THEY ARE CHEAP FOR A REASON!!

I was missing boxes plus expensive individual items. They did not take a list of articles at the pickup or drop-off. if you use them please request this. They told me they don't do this but when contacting them about missing items there was to way to prove they were missing. When I contacted a manager she continuously told me it must have been my fault at the pickup location (which was empty when I left). She told me to call the RCMP if I think things were missing. She was very rude and took no responsibility for my missing property. She should not be working at a job that deals with public.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Moving from Alberta to BC. 10 stars!!!

That Guy Van lines came in with the lowest cost, least hassle quote for our inter-provincial move. We were very impressed at the low price quoted to us however additional services were offered which made our move go extremely smoothly. We required storage for our furniture in between addresses. It was arranged for us with minimal cost or additional loading and unloading fees. The workers who arrived to load our furniture were very professional and took charge of wrapping every item with care. They even helped disassemble our large furniture. We loved how friendly they were which lightened our stressful mood so much!
During transit every detail was provided for including blanket rental in storage and a lock for the unit...amazing service relationship here.
The gentlemen who unloaded were also so personable and yet super efficient-where do you guys get such motivated fast moving but careful super entertaining obviously experienced workers???
Everyone was so polite and professional with our apartment building staff in both provinces ...and not one single scratch or broken/missing item!!!!
We are happy to recommend this company and would give more than 10 star rating!!!

Moving

Very professional and hardworking movers who worked through a move that required two pickup locations. First, a difficult pickup on the lower mainland, then a ferry to Vancouver Island to meet the next day to empty and wrap two lockers. The next step was a drive up island to my new home where the moving van was emptied into my home. The movers worked exceptionally hard to place my furniture, and boxes so that I could easily start the unpacking process. Thanks for a trouble free move.

Moving house with storage between moves.

Cost above is moving out into container, one way to storage facility.
Done in one day. Three caring, friendly and efficient young guys. Contents of small two bedroom home into two 8x20 containers. Should have been one based on vague info that a three bedroom would fit that size container! Guess we had lots of boxes! Not a big deal except it doubled our storage costs. Moving guys were quick and efficient at getting second container organized. Can’t totally review until we move back in next May...hope to have same mover guys, they were great.
So far so good! Would recommend to others. We liked being able to put stuff directly into container and seal up till unloaded when we move in. Not many companies seem to offer that service.

Two furniture moving experiences

The first move was from Coquitlam to Kelowna. New furniture arrived on time and in perfect condition.
The second move was from Kelowna to Fort McMurray. Used furniture arrived as scheduled with one cabinet damaged in transit. An insurance claim is pending.
Overall, friendly and professional service.
