Heat Pump Repair

Company charged $1500 (after condo discount) for heat pump repair, & heating still not working after repair was done. Called back & was advised they would charge service fee again to come back, after not fixing properly in the first place. Very disappointed that they were recommended by condo management

Heat pump repair - diagnosis and replaced capacitor

Our property management at 126 Simcoe changes frequently, so Sychem was not one of their preferred contractors. The current preferred hvac company, declined my request for service, sending me an email saying they cannot accept my service request at this time...never had this happen to me before...no explanation given. I decided to go through my old emails and called Sychem who was the preferred hvac contractor at that time in 2018. Sychem was responsive both times and even diagnosed the first issue in 2018 over the phone by resetting the heat pump and thermostat, and no visit was needed. This time though, resetting the heat pump and thermostat did not work, so a visit was required. Their service call rates are competitive for a downtown core condo visit, but the main thing is that they diagnosed and fixed the issue promptly without a need to go back. Will use their service again in the future, regardless of which company is recommended by property management.

Disgusting Company

Sychem has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. They have cost me thousands upon thousands of dollars over the years, they are dishonest, manipulative and they avoid phone calls and messages for weeks at a time.

The only way this company will pay attention to you is if they see a quick dollar to be made or if your condo board goes after them. Please, please save your money and go elsewhere!

Excellent service on air con system

After my air con wouldn't come on for the first time this season my building Super took a look. It was probably the main valve that switches heat to cold. Called Sychem and got an appointment right away. Service techs showed up early (yep early!) and diagnosed the same issue. Took the HVAC out to fix. Returned in a couple of days for a speedy install. In the end, very happy with the fix

Service

Heat pump, model # HRP 040 , was tripping on low pressure.

On May 16, the technician replaced retrokit # 510-070. The unit continued showing low pressure on heating and cooling.

On May 28, technicians Norbu and Parth reset the unit. Mahmoud also assisted.

It seems to be working fine now. They deserve our thanks for a job well done.

My Condo Corp Recommended Me a Bunch of DISHONEST HUMANS

COMPLETE DISGRACE! I have absolutely no idea how this company is still around and being recommended to consumers by their condo corps. They pretend to do a service by making you purchase a part without addressing the real issue and proceed to make you have them come in for subsequent service calls which all come out of your pocket. They have come in THREE TIMES which means $150 dollars each time, and when confronted, they pass the blame on to your condo corp, WHICH RECOMMENDED THEIR COMPANY IN THE FIRST PLACE. Please look for a decent company on the Better Business Bureau. There you will find honest tradespeople who take pride in their work and take responsibility for their practices.

Cause more problems than they fix

I have had this company over three different times, to fix a rust issue, and they have neglected to fix the part properly (as it just breaks 3 months down the road), and they knowingly sealed up the unit containing the rust. This causes a rusty smell to circulate my apartment, and I had to call them back. They wanted to charge just to open up and tell me that the rust as the cause of the smell. As I no longer trust them, I hired a different company, who immediately told me Sychem was irresponsible to leave the issue unattented, and not tell me about it, despite knowing full well that I would need help repairing it. I assume they have some deal with different condos, as they seem to cause issues that they then wish to charge to fix. I would not recommend them whatsoever, now will I ever hire them again.

Heating Unit

BEWARE.

Had Sychem come to fix the heat in July, the first time cost $800, broke in two weeks came in again... paid again $170. 4 months later heat is not working again, was going to charge me another service fee to come in.

I asked if this was acceptable and representative said yes.... I will be going with a company who is more capable of fixing a heating unit the first time going forward. It's winter in Canada and I have no heat now, ridiculous.

Called in earlier yesterday and I was suppose to receive a call from customer service in 2 hours no call. Had to call in myself the next day, twice to receive an answer.

Honestly save yourself the headache and go with someone else.

Fixing Heat Pump

Sychem were quick to send someone out to check out our heat pump. The issue was partially resolved (clogged condenser line) but the technician didn't notice or forgot to check that the AC was functioning correctly with the thermostat. As a result we have AC but we have to manually regulate it until I can find time to replace the thermostat.
