We went with Ontario Villa Construction for a major renovation involving a full three story extension and completely gutting the existing house. After 20+ years of working with countless contractors, Angel and Ontario Villa Construction are simply the best; most trustworthy contractor we have ever worked with. Angel and team transformed our 70 year old semi into a beautiful modern open-concept home. The job was finished on time in only 7 months and to the absolute highest possible standard of quality. Throughout the process Angel made countless suggestions to overcome challenges of building onto an older home and to improve upon the design, many of which came at substantial cost to him but never once looked to increase the price or add time to the build. Angel’s sole focus was to deliver the best possible home for my family and I. My wife and I also made numerous changes throughout the build and once again Angel was so flexible, accommodating every change we requested.
The office staff, Monica and Nadia, were also extremely friendly, responsive and an absolute pleasure to deal with every step of the way. The office stayed on top of the work and were very connected with us throughout the entire process.

Angel and his team started our project after the underpinning and concrete structures were completed by another contractor. The renovation involved installing 2 new bathrooms, 1 new kitchen and a laundry room as well as all of the necessary requirements for a legal basement apartment. We obviously encountered some delays and some city inspections and requirements which slowed down the project but Angel and his team managed them well keeping in mind the needs of our family and 2 small children who were living in the house at the time of the renovation. Our job involved plumbing, electrical, tile work, drywall and painting, exterior finishing, a new exterior deck and installing doors and windows. Angel and his team did a great job on our house and we are very pleased with the end results of the renovation. We have been enjoying the finished product for about 6 months and we are happy to report everything is still great. When small issues have occurred after the renovation Angel has been prompt to address them long after the completion of the renovation. Thank you Angel and your team for all of your hard work.

We recently completed a major renovation on our bungalow. We had a terrible experience with our previous builder and we called in Ontario Villa to pick up the pieces and complete the project.
They worked from the same plans and right from the start we could tell that the quality of work they provided was far superior to what we had just experienced.

Angel and his team worked through weekends and pushed to get the job completed on time without once sacrificing quality. When we had any issues or concerns Angel was there to make them right and did so understanding that they were building a home for our family that we could live in for years to come and be proud of. Angel was on-site regularly to stay on top of quality control and to ensure the work being completed was up to our agreed upon standards. There were weekly meetings held to keep us appraised of the progress.

We have had a major renovation planned, including lowering our basement, adding an addition and completely gutting the rest of the house. We added entirely new plumbing and electric service and changed the layout of the house. We also greatly upgraded the structure of the house and added significant insulation and a new roof.

Angel Stipo and Ontario Villa were recommended to us but we still went through the exercise of evaluating a number of contractors. During the evaluation process, Angel was always very helpful and polite and consistent in his explanations of his quotations and his ideas. The quotations were very detailed and helpful.

My wife and I occasionally became concerned about some aspects of the renovation process. Angel likened the process to a roller coaster ride with several ups and several downs. Angel was able to remain calm during all phases of the project and worked to keep the project on schedule even when some aspects outside of his control pushed us behind. Angel was particularly skilled at dealing with the many tradespeople who occasionally tried to delay the schedule or make other changes.

We are now living in our fully renovated home and greatly enjoy it. The house has needed very few further repairs but when it has Angel and his group have been very quick and thorough in making the situation right. My wife and I would highly recommend Angel Stipo and Ontario Villa and would use him again for renovation work.

Finding a trustworthy contractor can be a daunting job. Luckily we found Angel and his team to be just that. Yes, we had a few hiccups. Who doesn't. We had a timing challenge early on and one part of the job that needed some 'extra help'. Angel took care of absolutely everything as he said he would, and more. He was so extremely helpful and great to work with as a partner. Our house was a complete gut upstairs and as you can see the quality of the work is outstanding. Spectacular. So many compliments. We are thrilled with his work and would recommend OVC to do your job, anytime!

OVC did the following work for us: raised kitchen ceiling, new hardwood throughout home, added extra bedroom on second floor, added entire third floor, renovated one bathroom and created a new master bathroom ensuite. They came in on time (7 months) and on budget and their skilled tradesmen are fantastic (particularly the paint guy, hardwood guy, tile guy, trim guy, and drywall guys).

Angel is easy to work with and has a good sense of humour. When we needed him to talk to our neighbours about upcoming work, he was able to do that no problem. He helped us find solutions for some tricky issues and questions. The rest of his team are also good to work with. They were able to recommend other vendors for specific needs (like the windows).

Our contract with them includes them coming back a few months after the project is completed to do touch ups.

We are happy with the project and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

We engaged Ontario Villa for our below grade waterproofing and insulation this Fall. Angel’s team, led by Lucio, are incredibly hard workers. They were excellent from start to finish and left the site remarkably clean considering the excavation they had to do. We were very happy not only with the results but also the quality of service Angel and his entire team provided – they were helpful, proactive, reliable and responsive during the entire process. The job was completed just before the big rain we had sometime in October and everything stayed nice and dry in our basement – with us hearing only the occasional hum of the new sump pump running. This winter, albeit milder than usual, we can definitely feel how those 4” foam board insulation they installed on the exterior enhanced the overall comfort in our basement.

Just last week (around 8 weeks after their job completion), we called Ontario Villa with a request for some topsoil to fill low spots and to level our front lawn which has settled quite a bit after the below grade work. Angel immediately scheduled Lucio and his team to come out and do so as requested. That response speaks volumes about the level of their customer service!

We are definitely happy to recommend their services and will not hesitate to hire them again in the future!

My husband and I planned to renovate/gut our 1970 Bungalow. With 2 teenage boys we wanted something that would suit our family and make it more functionable at the same time. We gutted the main floor and basement. Changed the old plumbing and electrical and reconfigured everything. As a family business, they were very knowledgeable and professional but still very authentic at the same time. They treated our project as they would treat their own home. The project took 6 months and they were finished on time and on budget. We were very fortunate to have met Angel and his office team Nadia, Monica and Ali. Always answered my calls and emails in an orderly timely manner. Angel with his 15 year + experience always had great ideas to share when we asked him for his opinion on something. He never asked for more than what we agreed upon in the contract. He made us always feel that we were in charge. Thanks Angel and his team for this amazing house. I highly recommend them. They were on time and on budget. Never once did they request for extra funds unless we did/requested something that is out of scope. They made the renovation process very easy and a breeze to go thru. Renovation can be a very stressful process if you don't have a good team to back you up. We hired a very bad contractor before we hired Angel and his team. Words can't express how grateful we are for choosing Ontario Villa for our full-house gut job. We had a few quotes; Angel's was very reasonable, but not quite the cheapest. We dodged a bullet when the "cheap" company did our demo and didn't cap a pipe properly, leading to water damage in the room below. When we met with Angel, we knew right away he was the right mix of dedicated, knowledgeable and responsive. We've been grateful we chose Ontario Villa ever since.
As unbelievable as it sounds, we don't have a single complaint about Angel and his team. And this is a major reno rife with surprises and complicated problems. Angel himself is unfailingly honest, polite, responsive and dedicated to a timeline. He's excellent with attention to details and ensures every task is done right. We have a toddler and a baby on the way and he made considering future safety a priority too (ie ensuring no mold in basement).
His team deserves special mention too. Ali is great at managing projects and filling in when needed. We had professional updates and timelines throughout the project and regular meetings with Ali and Angel. Nadia does a great job with coordinating, Monica is diligent at billing and Angel's crew do a phenomenal job. For example, they carefully fit our old exterior bricks into a an area that needed filling and you can't tell at all. Or they expertly fit our old house with wood trim to look authentic. We were blown away by their craftsmanship and dedication to making our job perfect.
In this Toronto market, contractors are everywhere and not regulated well. So many friends lost thousands on shady jobs, had major delays or felt their contractors just wanted to get the job done. Ontario Villa is a bright spot in this tricky industry. We can't recommend Angel and his group enough and look forward to doing more with them in the future. We are more than happy to be references for Ontario Villa if you're considering them.
