AGM Renovations

Totally impressed with the organization of the project and completion of our bathroom. It looks beautiful! Our contractor Moe and Project Coordinator were awesome and took all the worries away. Love the work done!

Bathroom renovation has been a nightmare from the beginning. I won't explain the litany of issues prior to work beginning. Unfortunately I had to pay $2500 when I signed the contract, so I either went ahead with the job or would lose my money. As a senior this is a lot of money. Subcontractors were used despite claims that they don't use them. The AGM project manager was NOT good at staying in touch. The subcontractors were limited by what was on site which was supposed to be ordered by AGM. Despite the problems everything seemed fine until the last day when the caulking/silicone was applied. They left after this and removed all floor coverings because there was nothing else for them to install. When I checked the job site, I was shocked! There is grout missing in the shower both above and below the shower head. The caulking is a disgusting mess, either big blobs or so thin as to render the space susceptible to water damage. In spots, dirt is embedded. In a white bathroom it is very obvious. There are still items missing...mirror, medicine cabinet door, shower glass wall and door. No one has been in contact other than the one employee from Toronto head office who takes notes to pass on. It has been over 2 weeks and nothing has been done, nor has anyone else contacted me. No final walkthrough has been done by AGM. I DO NOT recommend this company. I just hope I get some action given this bad review. I don't know what else to do. I just feel like I've been taken advantage of.

Awful experience. Contractors don't turn up. No Project manager on-site. EVER. You will have to project manage yourself for the majority of the time. When I met my THIRD project manager. He told me he was working on over 100 projects.

They've overstretched themselves (possibly.)

They don't pay their contractors unless they get photos from them... something that wouldn't be needed if the PM was on-site. Hence contractors are annoyed and don't care about jobs for AGM... they will be also working on their own projects.

This is important. Not one single contractor works for AGM, they are all Sub in my experience. Something which they state on their website they don't do. I hired a plumber and electrician to get this job done. AGM asked for their contact details for future work!!!!!

Please steer clear of this company. They will take 80% of the money without your knowledge, you will spend most of your time chasing them to complete the work.

I have just seen the company's response. They have not tried to contact me to ask permission to access the property. All they have done is contact me twice to see if I will take down my bad reviews. Or to ask if I had paid them. This is probably a stock response to try and negate the bad review. Please see the photos for the quality of their sub-contracted tiler... who also plumbed the sink... AGM, if you want to come and fix the poor workmanship, then contact me... I doubt you will.

We were very satisfied with the finished product for our basement. The team from AGM Renos completed our basement within the timeline originally quoted and within budget. Work crews that were involved were very respectful and kept the work area clean after they left each day.

We wanted to renovate our unfinished basement for our family. AGM renovations went above and beyond to leave a satisfied customer. Our PM Ricardo, did his best to deliver the basement with a top qualtiy finish in the guaranteed timeline. We could not be happier!

We are very happy with our recent basement renovation by AGM, beginning with our initial consultation with Sr. Project Specialist, Kevin, to designer, Valentina, and especially Project Manager, Ricardo, who was very accommodating and responsive to all of our questions and needs, even when I texted him at 6am some days. We had to interrupt AGMs basement renovation schedule to complete a major drain pipe replacement in our basement, in the middle of the project, so Ricardo was very understanding and did not hesitate to accommodate our schedule and did not penalize us for the delay. Although there were a few minor issues with framing, AGM was more than willing to correct them or offer us a refund which we happily accepted. All of the trades that worked in our home were very polite and respectful of our work from home environment. They were always willing to answer any questions we had about the work they were doing and relayed any concerns we had to Ricardo, who frequently checked in on their progress throughout the project, and made adjustments as necessary. I would recommend AGM and would not hesitate to use their services again in the future!

The service techs were very professional and completed the tasks on time. They were very careful and made no damage. Completed the work on-time without further delays. It was prompt service.

We had a full renovation of our main bathroom. The service was excellent. The contractors were always on time and very nice to work with. They were efficient and finished the bathroom way faster than anticipated. The design and materials are lovely. The finished bathroom is beautiful. We love the matte floor and the rain shower. The work excellent.

We have engaged AGM on bathroom renovations project. The sales pitch has been detailed and impressive. Unfortunately, the actual quality of work has been extremely poor. Moreover, AGM has damaged our property and tried to cover it up. When we sent video evidence proving AGM was at fault, they simply stopped responding to any of our emails. AGMs project manager, after seeing the evidence, initially tried to help, but her employment with AGM has been terminated immediately and our attempts to contact AGM are routinely ignored.

To give further detail - the project was never completed, because neither the toilet was properly flushing, nor the shower was properly draining. Moreover, a foul smell was coming out of the bathroom. it has been agreed at inception that the project involved inspection of plumbing relevant to the bathroom and flagging any issues that come up.

After the problem appeared, AGM has sent out 3 plumbers. First two claimed they resolved the issue by unblocking the pipe, only to have it reoccur in a couple of days. The 3rd plumber claimed it was a faulty toilet and replaced the toilet itself. The issue has again reoccurred. At that point AGM sent us a communication claiming that apparently there was a problem with plumbing before the repair started, which we knew about and have never mentioned to AGM. I am not even commenting on this absurd accusation, but we have asked AGM if they knew there was an issue with plumbing, why the contractors would choose to proceed with the project if they identified a plumbing issue? Also, why send out 3 plumbers? We have received no response to that. Clearly this allegation was false.

After AGM stopped engaging, we have privately hired an independent plumber from another company, who did a camera inspection of the pipes (why didnt AGM plumbers do that in the first place?). He has discovered that during AGM renovation work a piece of pipe has been dropped into the drain and caused blockage.

AGMs reaction to this has been, again, to cover up. Our project manager has bilaterally suggested that AGM should review the evidence and fix the issue. Her employment with AGM has been terminated immediately and AGM went completely radio silent on us, ignoring all emails and evidence.

We had no choice but to proceed with the repairs privately, because we needed a working bathroom. Our plumbers had to cut out pieces of ceiling and wall and repaired the pipes that have been blocked due to AGMs negligence. This is costing us approximately $9,000 in addition to the $30,000 AGM charged us for the renovation that has never been completed due to AGMs negligence.

Unfortunately $28,000 of that has been pulled by AGM directly from our bank account, so we can not do anything about that. $2,000 has been charged to our credit card, which we are, of course, disputing.

We have reached out to Operations manager at AGM twice and received no response.
