While the gas company was here, I told them about the gas smell in our house. He came in and tested for gas leaks in the house. There was one coming from behind our gas stove. It turned out that the flex pipe was cracked and was the source of the gas leak. He turned the gas off and I called Casorso Heating & Plumbing after doing some research on other plumbing & heating companies.
Shane, from Casorso Heating & Plumbing, got back to me the same day and managed to fit me in the following afternoon. He and his assistant were great! They were courteous and worked efficiently. Unfortunately, our gas stove was so old that Shane had to come back the following day since the part that he needed in order to replace the flex hose was a different size than today's gas stoves (which he had in his truck). Nevertheless, he made time for me once again the next day and finished the job. After replacing the flex hose, he thoroughly tested it to make sure it wasn't leaking and then tested the gas stove to make sure it was working properly.
While he was here, he also took the time to check another issue that we were having in our basement with our main sewage stack. We discussed various options and I told him that I'd discuss them with my husband. We will definitely be hiring Shane to do that work when we're ready.
I highly recommend Shane and his assistant. It's obvious in dealing with Shane that he's an honest, hardworking man who values his customers and their time and money. In addition, considering he had to come to our house twice to replace a flex hose and that he included the parts in his price, his charges were very reasonable (and well worth the money in light of a gas leak).
