We have a very small basement to be renovated. We needed the whole space to be gutted right down to the studs. It is an above ground walkout. We needed all new insulation, floors and ceiling. The electrical and plumbing also had to be brought up to today's code. The process was very multifaceted. It started with a regional manager coming to the house to discuss the project, followed by a walk through with our project manager and then a timeline was set up for the work. This schedule was followed to the letter. We knew what was happening when and what to expect. Our project manager Alan was great. He answered all our questions and when we had any concerns, he was there to address them promptly and was willing to adjust minor things along the way. All the trades that came into the house from the demo team, to the painters where of high quality and did a great job. At Penguin, the designer was very helpful in advising us on flooring choices and paint colours. It was not a large space but they did a great job with it and never made you feel like they were going through the motions. The craftsmanship and finishings were high quality and we are very happy with the final outcome.
