complete basement renovation

I would not recommend Penguin basement contractors to anyone.
they will never return your phone calls once you signed the contract.
meanwhile they keep cashing your checks.
Be aware about plumbing with these people they will decide to shut off your current plumping without asking your permission. and then they refuse to come out to fix their own caused problem.
If something you don't like about the work their answer would be oh this is how we do it. just like they don't give dam about your concerns .
I have about 10 major concerns in my basement but they refuse to fix them and the reason (This is how we do our work)
Pot lights never worked from day one and they have yet to come out and fix them as its been over six months from completion date.
Please don't sign any contracts with these people.

Approximate cost of services:
$95,000.00

Company Response

We are sorry that your experience did not live up to that of the majority of our clients. We only wish we could get all 300 plus clients a year who love us to post their positive experiences, but we understand that reviews tend to be a place where unhappy customers can share their most frustrating experiences. All we can say at this point is, Sorry.

The person with the bad attitude who gave you excuses did not belong at this company, and was let go shortly after your build in March. How we do things should be "properly" and not used as an excuse by anyone at Penguin. Trust us when we say we do care. There are a lot of upset people here when we have an unhappy customer or any kind of issue for that matter, and that is why we encourage each and every customer to use the client portal religiously, so that we can track any issues, and then who responded, and whether or not an issue was followed up on and resolved. We see that you noted the pot light issue in the portal on October 16, and we have now prioritized this bulb replacement. You should be hearing from the customer care team today.

We do hope you enjoy your basement for many years to come.

Further to our response above, your review has prompted our own internal review to ensure that this kind of experience will be avoided in the future. If lights were not working upon install someone should have tested and noted that, rather than you having to post about it in the portal. Again, thank you.
