Concept Lighting

I wanted to write about my recent experience with Concept Lighting. My husband and I were nearing the end of a difficult renovation - a heritage farm house - and dreaded the task of having to choose our lighting. We met with Denise who guided us through the process and actually made it kind of fun! We placed our order after 2 meetings and actually took advantage of their payment plan - we were pretty tapped out financially so decided to go with their "Don't Pay for 6 Months" interest free plan. I don't think I've heard of a lighting store offering anything like this. We worked with another lighting store when choosing lights for our former home and althought thycwere pleasant, there was absolutely no help from staff at all. It was a frustrating experience. At Concept, Denise guided us through the entire selection process, managed our expectations (we have learned that a little patience goes a long way with both flooring and lighting if you want it done
right!) and came up with a package price that we could live with.
There was a problem with one f our lights (arrived with a broken
shade). It took a while to arrive but we did eventually receive a
replacement for it.
Now that our farmhouse is just about complete I have to say that
our lights look absolutely spectacular. Their store seems to be the
on,y one that has such knowledgable staff. Thanks Denise!

Excellent, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great prices and product. Will continue to use Concept and recommend to everyone. The staff helped us with sizing, style and finishes, very patient and happy to give personal opinions. Our home looks beautiful!

Best selection I have seen in all the lighting stores I have attended. Knowledgable and mature staff who were very helpful in getting me the right size and style for my dining room.

I checked out all three locations after I was referred by a friend. I did not care for the Mississauga or Oakville location at all. I ended up at the Burlington location and was very happy with my overall experience. Susan the manager was amazing at picking out the lighting for my partner and myself that we actually both agreed on. We were able to get a great price package and we had our lights come in a timely manner.

Purchased a lighting that they had on display but didn't have it I stock, so they said we'll get you a new one. Before purchasing we asked the desperate for a sales associate if we can return it once we take it home and see how it looks without installing it, and she said absoulutly and nothing else! Weeks pass by and I get a call to pick up. Two days after pick up I go to return and was denied, only to be told it was a special order and that's our policy to only issue a store credit. Associate that sold it says I told what our policy - no she did not. then she says why isn't this sufficient enough for you? REALLY? Spoke to owner and told him we were mislead. But said there is nothing he could do and that he has to go to a meeting and can only issue a credit.
The point is we were mislead only to make a sale. My fault for not reading reviews. I much rather shop at the big stores for better service, and by the way lowes carries most of their lighting online. Nothing special about this store at all.

My whole experience while shopping at Concept Lighting Oakville was fantastic! I attended their Black Friday Sale and got a great deal on 5 lights that I purchased. I was updated on the status of the order and was called the day it arrived. I would recommend shopping here to anyone who appreciates excellent service and knowledgeable staff.

The Customer Service is extremely bad, product are very beautiful but in very very low quality. The lighting is not working but they don't want to give my money back or exchange the lighting.

We purchased a dinning room light, after our electrician installed it we noticed one of the arms on the light was bent. After calling and emailing the store several times before anyone returned our call they told us they would need to speak with the manufacture. Several weeks later, we followed up again and were told that their was nothing that could be done for us, we we advised to bend the arm on the light back. We offered for anyone from the store to come to our home to try this fix. No return email was reviewed. Very disappointed as we wanted to support our local business. Hard to believe a business can survive with this level of customer service. It was hard to raise this issue up the ladder as our sales person was the manager.

My wife and I bought what we thought were high end lighting fixtures. waited almost two months and received a the lighting in a plain cardboard Chinese box (similar to what you would find in a flea market). I was assured that whle the fixtures were all in fact Chinese they were high quality Chinese. The fixture broke during installation. the entire inside of the fixture was heavily rusted. I asked for my money back but like everyone else I was denied. The owner Don was rude and not at all helpful. I went through three re-orders over the next 6 months and received all defective fixtures. I now have a credit at a store I don't want any merchandise from. Beware.

Purchased an outdoor fan which rusted in less than one year. When I called the manufacturer they said the store never should have sold us this as an outdoor fan. Manager and store owner gave us the complete run around. Be very careful when purchasing anything from this store as they will gladly take your money but product quality and service are extremely lacking
