We had a roof replaced by Kovar last month and were very satisfied with the job overall. Jason was very professional and took time to explain the work that would be involved and the products that would be used. The estimate was clear and complete and the work was done within the budget and the timeframe discussed. The work crew were pleasant and diligent. We would be pleased to consider Kovar for future work and to recommend the company to others.

I chose two contractors to give estimates for three Velux sun tunnels - living room, kitchen and hallway. I found Kovar Contracting through Homestars and another contractor was recommended to me. Jason came to look and provided us with a quote the next day. The other contractors came and provided us with a quote that was substantially lower.

Luckily I kept asking questions (many, many questions) which Jason patiently answered to try to find out why the quotes were so different. By the time I finished asking the questions of the other contractor, their quote had risen to close to Jason's. First they didn't quote the tunnels we wanted, then we realized they weren't planning on installing an ice shield, which Velux stated was mandatory.

Obviously we went with Jason as he knew what needed to be done and quoted appropriately right off the bat. The tunnels look awesome, the house was tidy when I came home, Jason even agreed to wait until my next pay for payment.

I will hire them again for our eavestroughs and when our roof needs to be done.

We recently hired Jason and his team to replace a skylight and shingles on our three storey townhouse. We recently had Kovar Contracting Inc. complete our roof and were completely happy with the entire experience. This included the quote, the roofing, customer service, referral (for masonry work that was required), and follow up work. We had a complicated situation. We really feel that we received top value for our money spent and have a high confidence (with warranties) that our roof will look and perform great for a long time. During his posted work hours, Jason always answered his phone right away. We have satellite TV, and after the job we needed Bell to come in to point the dish again. The Bell technician let us know that it's very common: he'd been with Bell a long time and every summer he sees a lot of newly completed roofs. He made it a point to mention that he thought our roof was done exceptionally well, and that it was "very clean" and "really tight"....and he would know since he has seen so many roofs over the years. That's the high level story, we highly recommend Kovar Contracting.
