Dishwaser "repair"

Quick Fix Appliances - stay away!
We reported a problem with our dishwasher and a technician was sent to our home to diagnose the problem.
On January 7/2015, the "technician" (Allen – he would not tell us his last name…) came and ran a diagnostic to the machine and concluded that a part was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced. He checked on line the availability and he told us that we would have the part ready to be installed in two business days, gave us the price for the part and labour and we paid half of the total ($188). On January 21, 2015 (!), we have finally had the technician back, with the part, ready to install it…
We are not going to mention at this point the number of times we called to find out what happened to the “2-day business day delivery promise”…
Allen arrived at 5:50 PM (5:30 was the promised time…) and by 8:10 PM we had nothing solved with the machine… The bonus was the flooding of the under-the-sink cabinet with all the contents and the kitchen floor… Allen seemed to be unfamiliar to the dishwasher make-up as I was guiding him along to put “things” back together…
At this point, I made a phone call to the company voicing my concern… The lady (unidentified) I talked to told me that I had to pay the technician regardless…
After a few more attempts to put the puzzle back together, Allen gave up and told us that the company was going to refund the money we paid... NOT SEEN THE MONEY YET!

Commercial washer

A VERY DISHONESTY COMPANY, technicain and supervisor are all east Europeans. I called for service my commercial washer which doesn't drain. The receptionist told me that they can't fix the pre-built coin machine. However, they will come to check for free since I don't know if it is. A tecnican came and told me that they can't fix it due to no parts available. I told him I won't pay him then. He called his supervisor and talk in anther language then he said he would troubleshooting it and after 15 minutes, he said he can fix it by replacing one timer. He can order it and back to fix it, The took my money. The 2nd. day, I called the office and I was told the parts were order. and will call me back. After a few slient days,I call back and was told no parts is ordered and available to fix the problem.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!

Dishwasher Repair

A "repair" guy came to look at my dishwasher - stood around for 10 minutes, after which he declared pump is busted and will be 860+tax to fix. After he left I figured out the problem was food that was stuck in the pipe - which the guy didn't even look at. After multiple attempts and rude deflections from the secretary I still have not heard back from the manager for over a month now - even though they assured me he would call back. The secretary kept badgering me with the rehashed quote that they do not give refunds and that the manager will tell me the same thing etc.
Not only did they provide subpar technical diagnostic service, their customer service made the experience that much more bitter and humiliating. I really feel like someone came in, ripped me off, took my money and then laughed in my face about it.
My advice - don't call them and tell anyone else considering doing so to avoid them as well.

dryer "repair"

I write "repair" in quotes because after two attempts they didn't repair my dryer.

On December 11, 2014 I was in contact with your company by email and telephone regarding my dryer that needed repair. Your web site stated that it was $80 for a service call to provide an estimate which would be waived if I went ahead with repair. Over the phone your receptionist stated that the fee was $90. When I pointed out that your site stated $80, she then said I would be charged $80 since that was what is stated on the web site, and you would honour that, however, it would be free if I chose repair.

On December 12, 2014 a repairman from QuickFix Appliances attended my home to fix my 3-yr-old Maytag dryer. It was making a loud squealing noise with a burning smell. The repairman was in my home for just under an hour and he stated he could fix it right away, he had the part he needed with him and that it would cost $235.00. I thought this was a large sum and asked him if this was including the service charge of $80. He stated no it did not as it was waived if I chose repair. I then agreed to the sum as we needed a working dryer. I was charged a total of $235.00 (the breakdown of the bill states as follows: $25 for the part, $30 for tax, $180 for labour). I thought this was overpriced but paid the amount by debit card. The dryer appeared to be working. Before the repairman left, he stated that the work was guaranteed for three months, that if it had any problems again within that time, it would be fixed free of charge and he placed a company sticker on my dryer.

On December 22, 2014 the same problem with my dryer returned. It was squealing again with a burning smell. I called QuickFix again and was told a technician would come to my home the next day. I was unable to be home during the hours the technician was going to attend so my childrens' father (who was made aware of the problem) was here in my place. He stated that the technician came to my home and said it did not need repair, did no work and charged another $90.40, which was paid again by debit card. When I returned home and was made aware of this, I was not happy. The dryer was temporarily not making the noise or smell but the work was guaranteed so there should have been no additional charge.

Over the next few days the problem returned intermittently, then continued steadily on December 28, 2014. I called QuickFix again and had the receptionist listen to the loud, squealing dryer over the phone. She stated she could hear the dryer squealing. I said that the dryer was still not repaired and that the problem would come and go and now it was continuous. I stated that since the problem was not fixed yet and the work was guaranteed for three months that they should fix it and reimburse me for the $90.40. She agreed and said that I would be reimbursed the second charge and that the technician would call me to come fix the dryer. I also took a time-stamped video of the dryer.

On December 30, 2014 (2 days later) I still had not heard from the technician so I called QuickFix again. This time the same receptionist told me that a technician would call me. I stated that this is what she said two days ago and my dryer is still not working. Because she gave me the same reply with no one responding, I requested to be reimbursed for what I paid since they did not fix the problem. This time she stated that service calls were non-refundable. I stated that the service call fee was waived if I chose the repair (by their own policy) and I did choose repair, however, QuickFix did not repair my dryer. It is now January 6, 2014 and I still have not heard from anyone at QuickFix, my dryer is still broken and I have not been reimbursed.

Dryer Repair

DISSATISFIED! Phone service reps and technicians are polite and well trained, but it's all part of a disguise to get you to trust them. Unbelievably overpriced, but once they were here, I had to pay the $80 service call so I figured I may as well just get the dryer fixed. Tech guy did not mention cheques were not accepted and then mentioned a %5 surcharge to use Visa. No legitimate company who charges $425 for a minor dryer repair (electrical coil) should charge %5 on top to use a credit card. Independent tiny businesses don't even charge that and they are making way less money. Mastercard charges 2% fee to the business owner. The fact that Quick Fix charges their clients more for the convenience of using a credit card speaks volumes about their lack of business ethics and protocol. There are tons of reliable appliance repair guys in the GTA who are considerably cheaper. Unfortunately, I used the wrong one. My dryer works again, but I know I overpaid on this and then got dinged again for using a credit card. Who keeps $500 cash around the house? Not me...Don't throw your money away like I just did. Call another company.

Washing machine

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.They came to my house to fix my washer and dryer, said both mother boards were faulty.I gave them a 50% deposit to purchase the mother boards. 3 months later, we've waited for a scheduled visit 3 times, each time they cancelled that the part was faulty. They are not replying to my e-mail communication. Nothing. Absolutely terrible. This company needs to be reported and shut down so they stop taking people's money.

Fridge repair

My fridge stopped cooling. The repair person they sent replaced a fan motor in the fridge, but did not stick around to make sure the fridge was ultimately working. He was in a rush to leave. When it was obvious the fridge was still not cooling, I called the company. They then told me that the same repair person had to come back to fix the fridge and they would have to reschedule him to come back. But he was not available for same day service or even 24 hour service. The repair person was not available for several days - and I was now stuck without an operating fridge. I had already paid $500 for a new part and labour, which did not solve the problem. So I called the company and the different women who answered the phone were very unhelpful and merely repeated scripted corporate policy. According to them, it had to be the same repair person and he would, at some point, call me back to schedule a time to come back. That was all they could do. They basically made this my problem to solve and took no ownership of the fact that they had advertised same day, 24 hour service. I had to keep calling several times a time for multiple days until the repair person finally made arrangements to come back. When he did, he had no idea what was wrong with the fridge. He simply turned the fridge on and off and left. Of course that did not solve the problem. It was then left to me to call the company again to request the repair person come back - again. Several times the repair person said he would come and then didn't show up and didn't call me to tell me he would not be showing up. After a lot of chasing, ultimately the repair person did come back, diagnosed a faulty wire (in the new part I had purchased), replaced it, and the fridge worked. The problem is this took more than a week because once the initial job is done and this company has your money, they do not honour their "same day" service as advertised. And they make it YOUR problem to chase them to fix your appliance. Getting a fridge repaired should not be this difficult. Terrible customer service! Unknowledgeable repair people.

Miele Dishwasher

Quickfix technician arrived. His name was Tom. ($90.40 paid to him for call out.) Subsequent telephone quote: $160.88 for the part and $200 for the labor.Would take 7 to 10 days, for him to come to do the repair, he said. I declined.
Miele charged me $25 for the part (including express next day delivery). Part only needs to be screwed in, a two minute job.
Don't use Quickfix.....

Dryer

This company cannot be legit. Do not use this company because as you've read from previous reviews they are horrible and take peoples hard earned money without fixing their appliances. We had them attempt to fix our gas dryer. The technician said it needed maintenance without opening up the machine. We insisted he open the dryer and look to see what the problem was. After opening machine said it just needed maintenance (cleaning) which he did using our vacuum. The invoice was 265.00 after he left the dryer started blowing cool air again. Problem not fixed. After countless phone calls we never received a phone call from Robert (the supervisor) finally technician came out 3 days later only because I kept calling and complaining. Technician came said 2 parts needed replacement wasn't sure which one hence why he said both parts because he did not know what he was doing. He went outside to call supervisor Robert whom told him to leave without informing us. Unbelievable how a supposed company is run. After back and forth Robert informed us his technician said we told him leave and we were not telling the truth yet he stated he told technician to leave. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Ask for their TSSA licence!
