Icemaker repair

Very dissappointed. Should have read the reviews first! Very unfriendly man showed up at my door. I explained what the problem was. He did no testing or anything. Went back to his truck and came back and said his supervisor said the whole unit has to be replaced for $470!! I said let me talk to my wife and get back you them. He said OK you still owe my $80 plus taxes. I know the website says you have to pay this regardless but there is a real s**m going on here. They either quote you a ridiculous price (which is about $100 on the internet) or you have to pay them a fee for a 5 minute service call. Don't use them. Cal friends and ask who they trust.

gas stove repair

After having paid $300 to have them come to my house and 'attempt to fix' my gas stove, they said parts were needed and should have them in a few days. No call back in a few days, so I tried them and was told no parts yet. Another week went by with no call, called them again but no parts. I called another company and he came and fixed the minor problem for less than $200. The parts that I was waiting for from Quickfix were not required.

Washing Machine Repair

Really disappointed with them. Technician came on 02 Aug. 2014, determined that timer is to be replaced and QuickFix will order the part, it should arrive in 5 to 6 days. I paid half the money at that time. A week passed no one called from QuickFix. I called the office and was told part has not arrived. Kept on calling, same story after 15 days. I could never talk to a supervisor, I was always told they is not in. The girls were of no help, just kept saying we are waiting for the part. Finally the part arrived after 17 days and the machine was fixed on 20 Aug. 2014. I will not recommend this company at all.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Customers should be able to speak to someone who is more knowledgeable and can track the part.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Do not call QuickFix, rather call an independent technician, who can get the part much quicker. When I searched, the part was available in a Mississauga warehouse, but since I had already paid half the money to QuickFix and had no option but to wait for their part.

service of viking stove

Asked them to come fix my oven. Service repair man looked like he had never seen a viking stove, misdiagnosed it, told me the part would be $600, total $1000, called viking to find price of part, $150. Paid the $100 service call fee, had another company fix the proper part for $300. NEVER RECOMMEND

No Heat in the Dryer

I would never recommend this company to anyone I know. My dryer was apparently "fixed" on Thursday (waited for a service technician to be available) and when he finally came he was rude and condescending (like I should have know what was inside a dryer!) Finally when he left he wanted to use the washroom and I refused since I was alone in the house and didn't feel comfortable with a strange man. He was not happy about that. Then the next day the dryer was having the same problem! NO HEAT!
So I call the company to get a technician out as soon as possible but their policy (as Dean the initial technician rudely pointed out) that he needs to come back since he was the one who "fixed" it to begin with. To top it off he wouldn't be available for another 4 days!
Fine waited the 4 days for the rude man to show up again and he didn't show up within the time frame given to me. I'm still waiting to speak to the manager about this whole incident but I have yet to hear back from this company.
I have nothing nice to report from this experience and would never let this man into my house again. I would rather buy a new dryer than deal with this company.

Dryer Repair "Service" Call

My dryer has stopped heating so, despite the negative reviews, I called QuickFix Appliances. I was told that the “service fee” was $80 for someone to come out to diagnose the problem. The man came out the next day, stood in front of my dryer and told me it would cost an additional $220 in labour costs for him to open up the dryer to see what was wrong – plus the cost of any parts needed. I asked him how much the part would cost and he replied that he didn’t know since he didn’t know what is wrong with it. In his words “I’m not psychic.” He told me he would not be able to tell me what was wrong with it until he opened it up (for the additional $220, of course). He then suggested it may be the display panel (which appears to be working fine) and if that’s the case, it would cost me the $220 labour charge plus an additional $250 for the part. Keep in mind that throughout this “diagnosis” I was paying $80 plus tax for, he NEVER touched the dryer. Not one finger. So essentially, I paid $80 plus tax for him to stand in my basement in front of the dryer for less than 5 minutes and quote me a higher price to actually diagnose the problem. So here is your warning – this is the “service” QuickFix is selling so be forewarned.

Services

I am very disappointed with this type of company. I call them to have service on my refrigerator, they schedule the appointment between 3pm to 5pm. The technician arrived at 7:30 pm and at this time I was gone, but my dad was home. The technician opened the fridge, looked on the back of the fridge and them called me saying that the motor was the problem and his professional advice was to buy a new on. I told him that I was paying $80.00 so I would like a document on paper describing what was wrong a scope of work for what needs to be done and how much was going to cost to fix it. No matter what his professional advice is, I think if I am paying $80.00 I have the right to have this service and take the decision myself.
He didn't provide any of that in paper, just told me that was $550.00 to fix it and that I had to pay the visit other wise he was not gonna leave my house.
Be careful with that, on the phone, when you call them, they ask if you can make a credit card payment, but they don't say anything about 5% extra.
So, end of all this company ruined my dinner, gave me a horrible service, because I don't believe it that any human been can look at some refrigerator and give the diagnostic and I payed for the service. The only good thing, I guess they were feeling so bad that they waved the 5% form the credit card payment.
I will never use this company again, I will never recommend and I will always alert people about this company if some one ask me about this type of services.

Worst Consumer Service Fixing my Dryer

Be careful. I called QuickFix Appliances because the hourly price seemed fair. When the technician arrived, he diagnosed that my dryer, which was not working right, should be subjected to a simple maintenance to return to work. He would lubricate it, clean it, because it seemed that the excess of powder internally could explain its problem. The cost: $200, but "it is important to do, because in 80% of cases our service would solve it". Logically, he explains it with a good dose of persuasion. The only different phrase: "if my service does not work, perhaps we have to change the engine - in 60% of the cases is the engine - but the decision is yours." On the grounds that 80% have solved the problem, I accepted the proposal. Faced with the option of spending $450 for a new dryer (and once the technician is already there...) I decided to make the service ... And, of course, I did not have my problem solved. Then the thecnician sayd, "but the decision was yours!" And comes the second part. "The engine will surely solve the problem, and we give 1 year warranty, can trust." He has budgeted $500 for the engine. Crazy. I then showed him on the internet that a new dryer would cost $450 and I had already spent $200 with him. He then told me he would give a discount, which made the engine price drop to $350. The engine was ordered and arrived two days later. Then came the surprise. The technician came to install, took apart the entire machine .... and suddenly a tool of him appears broken because "a part of my old engine did not want to separate." "Without this piece, nothing done", he said. "You have to pay $200 for this piece and I 'll change the belts on my own" (belt, moreover, that was already inside the engine box when it was delivered). You get no option. There 's nowhere to run . Besides all, the guy is harsh in the speech. Well, in the end I spent over $700 to have my dryer working (it is working until now, a month after the service - I don't know for how long). And I see on the internet, every day, since then, deals for good NEW dryers of the same brand of mine for under $500. Please respect your money: do not fall into the deception of QuickFix Appliances

Washing Machine Repair

I would highly recommend Quick Fix Appliances. The technician that came to our house to repair our washing machine was prompt, very professional and extremely knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to call them again in the future. A great experience all around. I have already passed their contact info on to family & friends A+. Thank you Roman!

Dishwasher repair

If you've got a broken kitchen appliance, I strongly suggest you don't call Quickfix Appliances. It took them three times to fix our dishwasher, they were rude and arrogant and they blamed us for their failure to fix it. In the end they broke the clips off the dishwasher and broke the kitchen cabinet under the counter. When I got home from work they hadn't even re-attached the dishwasher to the counter and it was sticking out at an angle and vibrated like crazy when I started it up. It's so unstable that my 15-month old almost pulled it on top of herself. When I called to complain and insist they finish the job they had the repairman call me and aggressively insult me over the phone, accusing me of trying to rip them off. It's still not fixed and now we'll have to spend hundreds of dollars (on top of the $1000 we've spent already) to get the counter fixed as well as the dishwasher. Definitely STAY AWAY!
