REMODEL AND RENOVATION OF ENTIRE HOUSE
Chris and his team at Remodel Construction are simply THE BEST !!! They did a complete remodel and renovation of my entire house and I am EXTREMELY satisfied with the finished product. Supporting walls were moved, a window was enlarged, a kitchen was relocated on the main level, another kitchen was remodelled in the lower level unit, ALL floors were replaced, pot lights were installed on both levels, a new walk-in closet was constructed, a new staircase was built, walls were repaired, base boards and crown moulding were installed, and so much more.....
This was the 2nd time I've used Remodel Construction, and I will DEFINITELY continue to do so in the future. I've found Chris to be VERY knowledgeable and he went above and beyond my expectations of a contractor. He was always willing to suggest an alternative solution to an issue that would arise, and also ensured that it would stay within my budget.
I now have 2 beautiful and legal units within the house. Hopefully, when I need Chris and his team for future renovations, they will be available, as I can not imagine doing a project without him and Remodel Construction. Now that your home has been converted from a single family dwelling to have 2 legal units in one home. A unit in the basement and the main floor you can enjoy the rental income for years to come.
In order to allow the main floor to be an open concept as you envisioned we needed to remove walls and install a structural beam. Our drafting team along with our engineer was able to come up with right solution with minimal obstacles in the basement. The main floor open concept completely transformed the look of the main floor adding light and that open living space feeling.
Its not uncommon that an egress window will need to be installed in a basement bedroom as a means of safety should an escape point be needed.
Its also not surprising when completing such a large renovation that situations or a construction problem will arise like they did that will need solving. At Remodel Construction we have the engineers, drafting team and our trades that can come up with right solutions for every situation to be able to solve those situations.
When completing any project big or small its always imperative to have good communication with our clients as we did while your renovation was in progress. This ensured that we can keep the job running smoothly and allows us to tackle and solve any issues or problems that arise quickly.
