Sanpiper Energy Solutions

Stay away like from a plague!
Got rented water heater with the home, they sent huge bill for buyout, but never provided a copy of contract on multiple requests.
Call daily a few times for money, but refuse to provide a contract. Every time some new person calls with zero accountability, each tells they are account managers.
Worst service ever.
Please never put yourself into a torture of giving them business, society will appreciate disappearance of such evil business!

Terrible service

I am renting a hot water heater from this company. I had no choice as the builder set it up before I moved in. This morning my downstairs neighbour contacted me to advise that water was leaking from my apartment to hers causing significant damage. I contacted them at 10am and I was told that I was a priority as water was still leaking. They let me know a technician would contact me shortly to make arrangements. I contacted back at 12, 2, 3 and 5. Each time getting more frustrated. I was finally told that the technician would be here between 8 and 10. I called at 9:45 and was assured he would be here but was maybe stuck in traffic. It is now 10:20 pm and I have wasted an entire day, took a vacation day from work, missed an overnight getaway, and still no technician. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told no, that they understand and they are sorry for the inconvenience. The water continues to leak and do further damage to my neighbour. We are both furious!

Deplorable Company

My brother is developmentally delayed and my mother is illiterate. I have recently taken on power of attorney. They sold them a water softener for a total contract valued at over 10,000.00.
Noware on the contract does it show what you are paying for the total contract. Invery small print they show 180 months.
There is no question when meeting my brother that he is an easy target.
When I asked him if he realized that he was going to be paying for 15 years and what he was paying in total his jaw dropped. The company's response was we have a recording of him confirming that he purchased it..
How utterly deplorable.

Hot Water Tank

If I could give Sandpiper no stars I would. I have experienced TERRIBLE service (if you can even call it service) from this company. We moved into our rental unit in December and in January we noticed the hot water was running out quite fast. It was around this time that Sandpiper called US and advised our tank was old and that it needed to be replaced. We were compliant and had technicians come to the property on multiple occasions to confirm that the tank needed to be replaced. When our landlord reached out to Sandpiper telling them we did not want the newest/most expensive tank that was when Sandpiper stopped engaging. When they realized they did not have the sale from a brand new tank they stopped responding to us. Over 12 phone calls later I finally had our property owners contact them to help get this resolved. By the end of May we had almost no hot water left and were taking mostly cold showers and I was doing my dishes with cold water. After multiple attempts to escalate the issue and multiple times speaking with the manager our property owners finally had enough and bought the tank outright so we could get our service from a company that actually CARED about its customers.

By the end of July both myself and our property managers confirmed with Sandpiper that we were finished with their services and that should have been the end of it. Now we are coming close to the start of September and we are still being charged by this horrid company. Denying that the tank was purchased outright and holding us to continue making payments. Its very poor when they try to hold us accountable for payments meanwhile Sandpiper denied our service for almost 9 months.

I know myself and others have shared similar issues with this company and it is time they are held responsible for their lack of customer service and customer care.

Water tank

I recently left a review and sandpiper responded with the message I attached below. I have messages sent to the email they provided and they continue to ignore them....

I purchased a house in late November 2018 where there was a Sandpiper water tank. While purchasing the house i didn't agree to take over the water tank in the paper work done by the relators. So i called sandpiper as did my relator and ask them to pick up their water tank since I didn't need their water tank. They didn't want to pick up the tank and said I bought the house so I am in a "contract" now with them for 10yrs! Which isnt true because I never agreed to terms with them or in the purchase of the house. So i had another company install their water tank and return sandpipers to them.
In May 2020 I received a bill in the mail from sandpiper for a active water tank.....
I called them and asked why they are charging me for a water tank i don't have and a contract that never existed. They said same thing as before you took over the house so you have to stay with us, which isn't true or legal cause there was never any contract.
Since they didn't want to settle the situation with me I hired a lawyer to deal with them to end this false
contract. My lawyer contacted them twice now and left phone messages and emails, which they didn't respond to any of them. I even had my lawyer email and call an employee Ninad who said they were looking after this false account and they wouldn't respond to my lawyers messages or emails either. But they continue to send bills in the mail.....

the company avoid if possible

This company avoid is they want to change out hotwater tank from 17.00 dollars amonth and to move you to tank that cost you 40 amonth and they sign a 10 year contract that cost 4400 over the 10 years it is only 459 dollar water tank

Rental Hot Water Tank

Rental hot water tank installed 2017. Stopped working today July 29. Called 24 hour service line @ 4:50 pm called again at 8:50 pm, will have to wait till tomorrow to have hot water. Garbage !

Furance & Hot Water Tank

Please go look at this company's many poor reviews below, and on the Better Business Bureau before committing to anything.

I purchased a home in early 2018 that was in very poor living condition and was ultimately torn down and replaced with a new house. I inherited the hot water tank and furnace contract from the previous owner who spoke very little English. When he was contacted by his real estate agent he said that he did not understand what he signed up for and that he felt he was taken advantage of because of his language barrier.

The Marathon Rheem hot water tank that was in that house did not work properly and goes for about $1000 at Home Depot. It was a 50 gallon unit and was way too big for that house.

The furnace was a very small Keeprite unit that can be had for less than $1000.

For over two years I have been fighting to be released from this contract and have been told that the only option is to buy the equipment out at over $11,000. That is 500% more than the value of what was put in the old (not even) 1000 square foot house. I could have purchased this equipment on my credit card and made half the payment of my current monthly Sandpiper charge and paid it off faster and for much less.

I have been making monthly payments to an account that for some reason only goes towards the furnace and does not go towards the hot water tank. They cannot figure it out and always call to tell me that the hot water tank is in arrears and they are sending me to collections.

Sandpiper has not been emailing me or mailing me invoices like they say they do and they can't figure that out either.

The moment you are late on a payment you get called relentlessly and are threatened by them to be sent to a 3rd party for collections.

I have never ever dealt with a company that acted like such a bully and did not care to negotiate or resolve anything.

It is no wonder that their CEO has a BILLION dollars in assets, and although he might be self-made he has ripped off many Canadians along the way.

All I want is to be taken out of this contract with a reasonable buyout.
