Polar Spas

I have owned several hot tubs in the past and this last one I purchased from Polar Spas has been far away the best to date. It is a Caspian model and requires so little attention that sometimes I wonder how it does it. The water is crystal clear!! Nice chaps working there and very helpful.

In June of 2013 we started looking for a hot tub. We were approached by Shawn McAvoy an employee at Polar Spas at a home/reno trade show; he was professional and answered all our questions. We expressed very clearly we would need financing and receive the hot tube BEFORE summer ended. We were extremely animate that we required the tube ASAP, and Shawn reassured us that it would come in the month of August at the latest. We put our trust in him and he has never lived up to a word he has said.

First problem was when we expressed the need for financing and he told us after we signed all the papers the bank would call us to start the process. One week passed with no call from any banks or Polar Spas. So we decided to get our own financing after waiting for a couple more days and not hearing from anyone. I decided to call Shawn myself and left a massage expressing how disappointed I was.

Second problem is that we gave Shawn a deposit at the trade show, however it was not to be cashed until after June 30th (have it in his own writing). He decided to cash it well before June 30th.

Third problem; We then went to the Calgary location and paid in full for the hot tub. We were told that it would take 60 to 90 days for delivery from that point. We then realized Shawn had told us what we wanted to hear even if he knew it wasn’t going to happen. Being the nice people we are, we decided to take it on the chin again. Now we expected the hot tub to come in 90 days which would be in September.

Fourth problem is that in 90 days there was no hot tub and we hadn't even received a phone call. Once again I call Shawn, leave a message, and once again he doesn’t return my call. I wait a week and call again, he picks up and tells me he will look into where the tub is and call me back.

Fifth problem is that Shawn does not call back. I waited another week and I call the Calgary office, talked to another person and in 5-10 minutes he locates the hot tub on truck 14. He then tells me they are on truck number 11 and it takes about a week or a week and a half per truck to be delivered. After explaining the situation to him he assures me they will call me by the end of the week explaining to me what happened and fix things.

Sixth problem is that a week goes by and no call. I wait a couple more days to call and leave another massage for Shawn. I have not heard from him and we still have no Hot Tub to date. I want everyone to hear our story as our experience to date with Polar Spas has been a HUGE disappointment. Hopefully I can update this post with a happy ending one day.

I would like to update everyone, we did receive our hot tub and it is great. The hot tub is perfect, long wait but quality product.

What a terriible experiance. Ordered a tub shipped it looked like it fell of a truck tried to get them to fix waited over 4 months still fighting. Called president he did not follow up on time or seem to care. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!! BEWARE

Complete train wreck; this is a long story, but it was also a 4 month nightmare. I specifically told the Polar Spa salesman I was planning a surround deck for the hot tub I purchased from him. I was told to leave one side accessible for servicing the electronics; which I did. The main Chinese made pump failed shortly after 1 year and is located on the completely opposite side than the electronics I was told to leave accessible. When I called about the pump not working I was told it was an airlock problem and I could find a remedy on the internet, but that didn't work. Called again and was told it was a fuze problem and that I could come down to pick the up parts and replace it myself; tried that and it wasn't the problem. While picking up the fuzes their south side manager acknowledged they were falling far behind on service calls and people were getting angry. He also told me he was specifically hired to help right the ship as the company was under serious duress. Several calls later I finally get the owner that he completely denied what the store manager had told me; about the same time I got a job application from their south side manager (not the same line of work at all). The owner accused me of not knowing enough about the mechanical aspects of my tub but begrudgely said he would sort everything out. Eventually the service guy finally comes out and tells me the pump needs to be replaced but he doesn't have enough access room; however, he'd coordinate with their installation subcontractor crew to help us lift the tub out of the deck and spin it; which again never happened. In the end, my son pulled out the pump and we had one of their competitors (HomeStars policy apparently will not allow me to identify them for the credit they deserve) come in, on the day they promised, and replaced the pump - same amount of working space. Without taking too obvious a stab at Polar Spas exposed back, they did point out the Chinese pumps and lower quality water lines these tubs use. I won't be the least surprised if we have to replace the secondary pump next. My advice - there are plenty of other alternatives; pick one.

I bought a swim spa and love it use it daily, service has been great so far.

what I like the most about my swim spa, is that it's very versatile from being able to swim, or have a hot tub or have the kids play in like a pool, it's been a great choice! we would recommend Polar Spas to anyone.

we just received our big honking hot tub from Polar Spas, it's 9 feet by 8 feet, I believe it's the Legend, but with all the lights in it, the delivery was a bit sketchy with the tub being craned over our house, but the delivery crew was very professional and assured us everything would be fine, which it was! My wife tends to worry a bit much sometimes, but you know how wives can be!

They got everything in place, and had it up and running in less then 2 hours, what service, they stayed back and made sure everything was working on the brand new spa.

we've been in it almost every night for the past week, and I haven't slept better in my life! probably because my wife is so relaxed now! ;)

I have had my hot tub for just about one year now. I bought the tub because I was in a car accident. I use the hot tub once a day (sometimes twice) because it helps with the residual pain. The staff at polar is always very helpful with any questions I have in regards to my hot tub. Also, the maintenance is so easy! Way easier then what I expected.

My name is Wes Bradshaw, my wife (Susan) I recently bought a hot tub from polar spas and would like to say thank you to them for a wonderful hot tub. We have used it every day and have never slept better. It has been a long time since we started talking about getting one and we are so glad that we have one now. It is more then we excepted and we are very happy with it. I would especially like to say thank you to Shania, she was very helpful and understanding to our situation. She handled our concerns and was very profession and was a pleasure to deal with.

My husband used our hot tub every night afterwork. If he missed one night he noticed a difference. Shaun McAvoy was a huge help with assisting us to recieve a diverter that was cracked.However now one of the pumps are leaking and we can not seem to get anyone to call us back to set up a service appointment to get the tub fixed.Chris emails that someone will call but we are still sitting with a tub we can not use:( I would like to update this review. I have sent over 7 emails. numerous phone calls and no one will acknowledge us at all. I have now researched this company and please buyer beware. Check the better business bureau. Also Google reviews on this company. "Stay away" They do not provide service on the expensive purchase you make.

We love using out Hot Tub all year long. The therapy is wonderful I love the massaging jets. And we are saving a TON of money having our "staycation" in our back yard!
