Owner Peter Bird took the time to respond to any and all questions to my satisfaction before booking the appointment. He set up a time window of between 9 am and 11 am, and the service man (Matt) was done by 10:10 am, taking with him my old A/C, as well as the packaging for the new one. The quoted price was the price on the invoice and was the price I paid down to the penny. Before leaving, Matt answered any and all questions regarding maintenance, winterizing, and how to get the four way airflow working.

They installed a Friedrich CP10G10B window A/C, which has a very good Energy Efficiency Rating of 12.2, and thus far it's worked like a charm. The weather has been smoking hot the last few days and yet it's a comfortable 70 degrees fahrenheit in the front area of our apartment where the A/C is installed. That's with the unit set to 75 degrees fahrenheit, so I'm impressed. These guys service Friedrich air conditioners as well, so should I have any problems I know who to call. All in all a terrific customer experience with no muss, no fuss for me. The old A/C is gone and the new one is in, and I'm a happy customer. Thanks Golden Plug Air.

The quote was cheap. The problem was when they came over they added on more costs which were not known or discussed. The service in general was less than satisfactory.

Prompt courteous service, estimate was price charged, went above and beyond in replacing windows effected by install, turned up on time with sufficient support to do the work with minimal disruption. Checked for warranties on repair work. Great people to work with, always answered both cell and office phones.

Terrible experience with this company, was sold defective equipment and owner refused to help us. Cousins also had horrible experience and lost a lot of money, BUY ELSEWHERE or you'll regret it!

These units were installed several years ago and have never worked right, but owner ignored us after we called multiple times. Buy elsewhere as owner is unethical once you've paid him.

I used Golden in 2012 to certify an installation of a 5,000 BTU window mounted a/c in an apartment building. I will be using to install the same a/c again in a new window type (building upgraded their windows) this year. I will also be using them to tune up a 15,000 BTU balcony mounted a/c. Very professional staff who show up in their predicted time range and provided the documents I needed to prove that the 5k a/c wasn't going to fall out.

I wasn't told in advance about a gas surcharge that showed up on the invoice but considering the distance from their office to my building, it wasn't excessive. They also work Saturdays (book in advance!) which is really helpful.

My mother lives in a seniors building and I wanted to make sure she would be comfortable in her apartment when the summer season turns hot and steamy. Golden Plug AC specializes in through the wall units so I called them and spoke to Nancy and based on the size of the opening in the wall and the square footage of my mom’s apartment she gave me a few options to consider. I chose the Friedrich Wall Master unit (10,000 BTU) since it would be a perfect fit. In order to confirm that the ac unit in question would fit correctly, Peter Bird from Golden Plug came by to look at her set up/take measurements. At that time I mentioned to Peter that my mother was concerned her white carpet would get soiled. Peter assured me that they would wear booties over their street shoes and put down blankets to protect the carpet.
On the day of the installation, my mother and I were both pleased with the installation. Peter and Matthew did not leave until the ac unit was perfectly placed and an annoying ticking sound (a stray plastic thread!) was remedied.
From the first call to the final installation, Nancy, Peter and Matthew provided helpful, courteous and overall professional service. Also, since they are an authorized Friedrich dealer, they can service and repair my mother’s ac unit with no problem. I would have no hesitation in recommending this firm.
