I recently purchased a house with window problems. Old windows were an eyesore. Needed quick replacement at a good price. I checked online as well as well as yellow pages and chose Windows BY Installer. Contacted the owner of the company (Alex) through homestars and was treated with respect and professionalism (even though I was not a high dollar client). Windows were measured and I received a very reasonable quote. Due to human error, there was a delay, etc. When things go right, it's hard to get the true measure of a company. When things go wrong, it is much more revealing. This company handled the issue in a professional and caring way. They stepped up, did what needed to be done to correct it and I believe they did not make a profit (and may have even taken a loss) after all was said and done, but guess what? They made it right and made sure I was a satisfied customer before they expected payment. I am extremely satisfied with the windows. Oh, and the payment was exactly what they quoted.... No surprises with hidden fees. I would certainly purchase from them again and would recommend them to my friends and family because I believe they are a trustworthy company and provide a good product at a good price.

Someone tried to break into my house by forcing a window open. Luckily only one of the 2 window panes broke so they didn't get in. But, I had a broken window to deal with. Several window companies said they didn't do repairs or only repaired their own windows. I called Windows and Installer, talked to a very friendly person, found out that if I needed someone to come out to the house it would take a while as they were very busy. But if I could bring the window in, they could fix it right away. In fact, if I brought the window in by 10AM, they could fix it the same day. I was able to take the window to them. The shop was not too far from my home and when I got there I was greeted promptly and very professionally. The gentleman got the window from my car, wrote up a repair order and said they'd call me as soon as it was done. I had to stay at home while the window was out to prevent someone trying to get in my house again. Sure enough, about 3PM they called to say the window was repaired. They put the fixed window in my car and I was on my way home. I am so glad I found these guys and will return any time I need window work done in the future.

A friend of mine had this company install siding on her house several years ago and reported a positive experience. After doing a bit of research into the company, I scheduled an appointment with them to discuss replacement windows. The salesman arrived at the agreed upon time and gave me a direct, to-the-point, no BS presentation. Not the dog and pony show you often hear about from window sales people. He described his product, answered my questions, gave me a quote, and was on his way in less than an hour. I called him back in a few days to say that I had decided to go with them. A day or so later I received a call from a rep to schedule a time to take the measurements for the windows. He came out the next day, took his measurements, and was gone in 15 minutes. I was told that it would take about 4 - 5 weeks to manufacture the windows and get them installed. It was only three weeks later I received a call saying that the windows were ready. Two days after that the windows were installed. The three-man crew arrived right on time, did a great job with the installation and clean up, and were done in about four hours. The windows look great. It was an overall positive experience. I would recommend Windows by Installer without reservation.

The sales person was a delightful young man and he knew his product very well. He came to our home to present us with the product, we were very impressed with him and the product. We were told that there would be an extra price for replacing that window for a permit, we called the city to check and were told that we didn't need a permit. We called the gentleman back and told him what the city said and they removed the cost with no problem. They had to remove a large portion of the siding in order to replace the window, they put it all back together when they were done and there was no evidence that it was ever removed. They did the job in a timely manner and they cleaned up after themselves. They explained what they were doing and why they were doing it.

Alex and his helper came to the house when the siding arrived and the two of them put the siding on the two sides of the house. They were very nice and seemed to be very well trained. They made sure every piece of the siding was put on precisely and every corner was trimmed perfectly. They ran short of glue for the last piece of siding and had to return the next morning in the rain to finish but were emphatic about installing it correctly. The job was done beautifully and I was very impressed with everything from the date I ordered it to the finished product.
As to the windows. The same installer Alex came when the windows arrived but this time with a different assistant. The job wasn't done quite as smoothly as with the siding as they had a hard time removing the old windows and had to break several to get them out. That wasn't a problem it just took longer than expected. Alex was again very professional and meticulous in getting the job done correctly. They again ran short on spray foam for around the windows and ran short on time so had to return the next day to finish but made sure everything was secure until the next day. Alex returned again with a different assistant who was also very concerned about doing everything correctly. They finished up and the windows, the trim around the windows and the cleanup. I was again very impressed with the finished product and the install. I will definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to anyone who needs either siding or windows. The price was a little higher than some and a little lower than others but the lifetime warranty and quality products were top notch and well worth the price.

This was a great experience, from beginning to end. Steve and Alex came out to measure all the windows we wanted to replace and provided an estimate. They talked through our priorities with us, and even explained why we should wait to replace one of the windows. Alex emailed us a detailed estimate a day or two later (which was about 1/3 less than another estimate we had gotten). We placed the order, and Alex called us about 4 weeks later, once the windows had been manufactured, to schedule installation days. Oleg and Dan were the installers. Both very nice guys, friendly, professional, hard-working. They showed up when they said they would be here, and kept their work areas very clean. They were able to tear out 15 old, 1960s aluminum windows, install the 15 vinyl replacement windows, and do all the trim work, caulking, etc. in less than 2 days. We were very impressed.

Windows By Installer removed old storm windows that served as a front porch enclosure and installed new double-pane insulating windows. They had to reconstruct porch supports, build framing to accept the new windows, and creatively solve some framing and alignment problems related to old house issues. They added additional trim in a few spots to cover some old door frame defects and match the new window trim with the existing porch door.
Overall they did a great job, offered helpful design and window purchase suggestions during the initial planning phase, and had a skilled, professional, and friendly team doing the work. Their price was right, and I'd definitely hire them again when I'm ready to do my next remodeling project.

My husband negotiated the poor salesman nearly to death, and I'm sure we ended up with a fair price. We ended up with great, really high-quality, triple-paned, argon-filled windows, and we're loving them. Our old windows were aluminum framed and difficult to open, plus we had to switch out storm windows for screens every summer/winter. It was a pain. These are inclusive and it's very easy to open and close the windows. We're happy with them. I was not at home for the installation but my husband was. He said the crew was very friendly and agreed to show him how they worked and some tricks of the trade. They cleaned up the mess and by the time I got home I couldn't tell anyone had been there. Other than having fancy new windows, of course. They look great. We love opening them up everytime there is a good weather.

SO this is what we had done.
Original 1967 windows removed (complete removal of window and framing) and replaced with double hung vinyl.
Interior casings installed
Exterior trim and aluminum capping
Bay window installed to replace a large picture window/double hung combo in living room.
New shutters on front of house.
New 6' center hinge steel door installed to replace a wood sliding door to our deck.
Called WBI at the recommendation of my Dad. He did a lot of research before choosing them and was very pleased with every step of the process.
From the sales call to after the job was complete, we were extremely happy with the quality of work, work flow, communication, clean up, professionalism.

Windows by installer did a great job. We are so happy with them. They were timely and it was cold when they put the windows in. They did a good job and they did not mess around and cleaned up after themselves. They also had to watch out for the lead based paint which we have on our house. They were very professional as well. They cleaned up the yard well and did a really good job. They were very professional and you could tell they have been doing this for awhile. They also explained everything about us having lead based paint, which another company did not even mention. They improved the look of the house! They told me when they were coming and how long it would take and that is what happened. I would recommend them to anybody. They are not the cheapest but it is well worth it.
