Kitchen granite countertops

Came in and measured things out, visited the shop to pick out granite, waited a week or so to get the pieces cut, and the guys installed in half a day. Everything went smoothly, countertops are beautiful. Price was reasonable too, and included a large bay window that took quite a bit of effort to do up a template. Very happy with everything. I'll include photos on their google maps review page (which, if you're looking, had few, and not particularly good reviews when i checked before hiring them) once the space is completely finished in the next week or so.

Company Response

Thank you Raphael, you were very easy to work with as a client and it was our pleasure to work with you as well. I was very happy with the way the countertops turned out, especially the bay window piece, which finished the room quite nice. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished project photos once you have completed everything for the renovation.

Thx again,
Frank

Kitchen, island and 3 bathrooms- countertops

My review on Provincial granite in Mississauga.

This was a horrible experience.
This business lacks professionalism in every sense of the word.
The quality of work can be seen in the pictures attached.
They switched some of the product without consulting with us and they felt they were in the right for doing it, it is mind boggling that they are still in business behaving in this way. The owner wrote me an email telling me we had spent too much time on the issue, what????
The customer is not happy because they are not getting what they were quoted on? And the the customer basically doesn't matter.
Provincial also put a finish on the island stone that caused a strange film build up on it. We had to have 'warranty' work done on it before we even had the chance to use it.

I do NOT recommend Provincial. Stay away from them.

Company Response

Firstly, the subject job was done under the leadership of a General Contractor with whom we have worked on several projects for the last 5 years. This review is not from the GC or the home owner but by someone else. The GC had undertaken the full house renovation and the countertops were subcontracted to us. Why would the GC risk recommending our company if we were unprofessional and the experience was going to be horrible dealing with us. BTW, the dealing started in Aug 2016, the Contract was entered into in Nov 2016 and the job completed in phases in Dec 2016 & in the 2nd week of Jan 2017. Why would anyone continue to deal with a company for 3 months and then enter into a contract if their experience is being horrible? 3 months is good enough to know if the company you are dealing with is good or not for your project. So why would you enter into a contract after 3 months and continue to deal with the company for another 2 months till the completion of the job in Jan 2017, wait another 2 months to put in a review that your experience was horrible? It doesn’t make sense.
We are still working with the GC on other projects & that is because we are always on schedule and do good work. Why would he continue to work with us if we did not live up to our work?
We understand that renovations are stressful and overwhelming, but it is not fair to use Homestars and other similar sites to vent your frustration. Anybody can put in a review on Homestars, all you need is a valid email.
As you see, the subject says kitchen, island & 3 bathrooms - countertops, but the picture posted is of the dap showing on the backsplash piece that the painter has missed painting. How about some actual pictures of the kitchen, island & the vanity countertops that we did?
We also supplied the sinks for the countertops. The sinks requested were all size specific for this project & ones that were in their budget. We quoted & supplied the exact size sink that was requested & was in their budget too. We did not quote on any branded product like Kohler or Blanco or Franke as it was not in their budget. As far as we know we haven’t switched any products.
Finally, the solution used on the quartz island is a recommended product by the quartz & stone industry to enhance the surface. We are unaware of any ‘warranty’ work that was needed because of this application.
It is sad that these websites allow people to use their sites as a venting tool.

granite countertop

We decided to have our countertops changed from the existing laminate counters to new granite since it was time to give our kitchen a new look without disrupting the house hold with an entire reno and since our cabinets and flooring were still in great shape and style. We shopped around a few places before deciding to proceed with provincial granite to complete the job. They were very informative and professional from our initial visit to the installers who completed the job. Their set up was very helpful in our selection, we could actually select our granite slabs that were used in our kitchen from there slab inventory that had at least 50 different colours to choose from instead of choosing from a small sample of granite like the other places showed us. The measurements were done and in about a week or so we had a new granite counter installed. From our first visit we could see that this company was organized, experienced and professional to deal with. Banu was very helpful with our our colour selection and informing us with the procedure and what to expect. I would definitely recommend them in the future and may use them again to complete our bathroom countertops.

Granite Counter Tops

Before coming out to measure we were asked 4 times if cabinets were installed. Joe showed up took measurements and left never saying a word. The next day we get a phone call saying we have to come back to remeasure because your appliances were not in place and therefore we are charging you $100 for my time. I was a bit taken back after having our kitchen company come in a few times to measure never suggesting we pay them more money! Why were we not asked about our appliances being in place since we were asked about cabinets four times prior to you coming out I asked. To which he replied READ YOUR CONTRACT! In the end he did come back as he said he was in the area anyway and we did not get charged the$100.00. After the granite was installed we received a phone call that we thought at first was to ask how everything went. To our shock they called to yell at us and ask why we told the installers to cut an inch and a 1/4 of the granite which cost them an extra two hours on the job! Of course we had no clue what they were talking about and in fact I asked the installer is it usual to have to cut the granite as I assumed it would be ready to install, he looked at me and said no it is not usual but my boss called me this morning and said he left the granite slightly larger so I could cut and modify to fit properly given the back wall wasn't even. I would also like to say if an 1 1/4" had to be removed then doesn't that suggest it wasn't the right size in the first place? The next incident was when we went to install faucet and the hole was cut to close to the sink making it impossible to attach the faucet at the base, nothing to do with window sill. They didn't take into account we had an apron sink! When we called them back they said it was not their issue and they have no interest in coming out, get the plumber to fix it! Luckily our wonderful Kitchen Company came to our rescue and was able to cut a small hole at the back underneath side of the sink to accommodate the faucet. We would never recommend this company based on the level of customer service we received from both Joe and Frank, the installers were however great. Just to recap...as an educated consumer... at NO TIME did I ever ask installers to cut Granite! and at NO TIME did I ever change measurements. The installers just did their job properly and It's not our fault (the customer) that they were longer on the job then you thought they should be and you should NEVER call yelling at your client EVER making false accusations, especially when you were not on site. They have taken what should be an exciting happy venture and twisted it to make it a very upsetting, stressful moment for us and I don't appreciate the rude and foul comments made about myself to my husband, this is a very upsetting matter for us both indeed..and over what because your installers where longer then necessary! Ridiculous! Based on their reply to a negative review you can clearly see what we are talking about.... I don't need to say anymore.....

Company Response

Its amazing how this client has the opportunity to slander a company by leaving out most of the truth of what actually happened.

Here's the truth: The client made adjustments to the granite pieces during the installation (if your an educated consumer, you would understand that the granite pieces are custom made to fit your kitchen and they cannot be altered after a measurement takes place). We spent 2 hours measuring this job, which the client also signs off on our measurements. During the install, she changed her mind on sizes she approved during our measure, her husband told me this in a conversation I had with him the next day.

The bottom line is, if you hire a company to perform a service in your house, read their contract, its the clients responsibility to do so. Just for the record, we came out to your house to remeasure when your appliances finally arrived, but did not charge you as it is our right to as stated in our contract that you signed.

As for the faucet hole, it is drilled in the correct location as per the client. It cannot be altered because of the wood window sill that interferes with your goose neck faucet.

After so many years in this business, it still amazes me that we deal with the ignorance of some clients. This client obviously decided to leave out the truth in this review which obviously degrades our company. I would challenge this client to verify her story up against the thousands of projects we have completed for very satisfied clients.

Lets all decide to leave this one in the past, it should be obvious to everyone that the client has taken the defensive and is clearly leaving out the truth. Not to mention that this situation is under investigation by Peel Police based on the RACIST comments the clients husband made directly to me. Pretty indecent of him if you ask me. Now that I know the type of people we are dealing with, I would have never taken on this project and would never associate myself or my company with this type of client.
Yet again the client is lying. It's obvious to say as any outsider looking in, that this client has fabricated a story and possibly living a double life or has 2 different husbands. At no time, did we have any negative comments about the client, but I do know that the clients husband is a racist, based on the verbal comments he made to me. As I stated earlier, Peel Police are looking into this matter. I would rather not comment any more at this time.
