Carlo and Westside Drainage provided exceptional customer service. We purchased an older home with evident drain tile issues, and a friend highly recommended Westside Drainage for the job. Carlo was honest, and knowledgeable; he approached the job with the goal of fixing the problem at a reasonable cost. We were thrilled to learn that much of our drain tile system was operating well, and that Carlo only needed to fix a few problem areas in order to make our system fully operable. Throughout the process, Carlo took time to explain the issues and his approach to fixing it; he also made an effort to keep the cost reasonable. We wanted to have our home inspected for any foreseeable drainage problem as our home is 53 years old. After searching for a professional drainage company and reading the good reviews for Westside Drainage, we gave Carlo a call. A drain tile video camera was used for inspection.
A collapsed drain tile was seen, and water was building up in the area against the basement wall. Carlo repaired this problem. We were very pleased with Carlo's work. He is very professional and friendly and advised us in detail of the process of his work. We would recommend Carlo without hesitation if you want excellent work. We were very happy.

Carlo was helpful and professional right from the get-go. We had a quote from another company during heavy rains. Carlo was super busy but took the time to check the site out on Google maps to get an idea of what was happening. He gave us a temporary fix solution to hang tight during more rain whilst he was still busy with other projects. It fixed our problem right then and there, without any more flooding!
Not only did Carlo help save us from a triple the cost quote of unnecessary work from another company, but he also delivered fast, efficient and quality service.

After a heavy rainfall, we discovered water coming into our basement. We suspected that it was likely our drain tiles. Based on the positive Homestars reviews, we decided to call Westside Drainage to check our drainage. Carlo promptly did a thorough assessment with a video scope of our drain tiles. From the assessment, he clearly described the problems that he found and recommended isolated repair of the problematic corners of our house. After agreeing to his recommendations, Carlo efficiently completed and tested the repairs with incredible expertise and professionalism. I would definitely recommend him anyone with perimeter drainage issues.

Carlo knows his stuff. He doesn't offer the free inspection like some other contractors, but he does not over charge. He correctly found the problem at inspection and then when it was nearly the best case scenario during the repair, he lowered the estimate accordingly. It's easy to rate WestSide Drainage with 5 stars.

Water issues in the basement meant investigation had to be done. 1st order of action was to check the drain tiles. Spoke to Carlo and he came out to scope out the system. He quickly found A) the Drain tiles needed to be flushed out as they had never been done & B) when the house was built 30 years ago certain areas were not done properly. The sump pump area pipes were not at the correct heights and needed to be fixed as this contributed to the standing water problem in the Drain Tiles. Made the arrangement for Carlo to come and correct the level of the pipes - which he did. I found him to do good work, showed up when promised, work was done within the quote and he offered excellent suggestions on the next step on to attacking the water problem. He offers solid help in getting contacts for helping to do the next step. I would recommend this company as all work was done as promised and there were no issues.

One of the big drainage companies told us we needed to replace our entire drain tile system. The quote was well over $30000. We called Westside Drainage for a second opinion. Carlo explained why changing the entire system was unnecessary and would likely not lead to a favourable outcome. He explained where the problems were and what repairs were needed. The work was completed in a timely fashion and with high degree professionalism. We highly recommend Carlo and WestSide Drainage.

We had drainage issues (60+ year old house) and two larger companies had a look and told us we needed new drain tiles and quoted 35k+.
We called Westside Drainage and Carlo provided a more thorough inspection (for a fee, which was credited towards the fee when he did the rest of the work) and showed us how our drain tiles were fine and that the issue was much more isolated.
He provided a reasonable quote and delivered the fix promptly and within the budget, and has also been available on short notice to help with other issues.

I called Carlo after I kept smelling a musty smell in the house and in the basement. We had had a mold inspection years ago that came back all clear. But every spring and summer we were still smelling a musty odour in an area in the basement. After talking to Carlo on the phone, he suggested we check out the drain tile as I was suspicious the smell was linked to after we were watering our plants outside. Carlo walked me through the drain tile system we have at our house, used the camera to thoroughly inspect everything and check for blockages. He also ran water tests to ensure our back sump was working. He basically left no stone unturned! When everything checked out ok, he inspected the basement. He came to the conclusion that as we had an older home, they did not put a water proof barrier on the outside of the concrete foundation, which meant that every time we were watering the plants located next to the house, the water was soaking into the concrete which was causing the smell in the basement. Needless to say, we removed all the potted plants by the house and we now no longer have that musty smell in the house! Had we not called Carlo to help us investigate the issue, we would have been causing moisture damage to our house for years to come! Carlo had also inspected our main water shut off (to rule out leaking pipes) and had noticed that it was not configured properly and will be prone to future leaks that could cause major flooding in our basement. Something our home inspector should have caught and told us about 8 years ago when we bought the house! Carlo opened our eyes to the importance of drain tile inspections. If you are buying a new house, you should have the drain tile inspected! And if you currently own a home but have no idea what type of drain system you have, it is well worth the $500 to have peace of mind that everything is in working order and educate yourself on exactly how the drain tile system should be functioning. It will save you a lot of money later on by being proactive now! Thank you Carlo for taking the time to answer all of my questions and educating us on how to take better care of our home. :-)

We had a flooding issue in the basement of our 50+ year old rental property. Originally we called in a large company in the area. After spending over $1000 to diagnose the fact that we needed new drainage tiles, we were quoted $40K+ to replace the drainage tile system around the house. We then called a smaller company but was quoted $25K still to replace the tiles. We were told there was no way around replacing the system.

After reading the reviews on Homestars, I decided to call Carlo for a second opinion. Even though Carlo does not offer a free estimate, it is completely worth the few hundred dollars to ask him to come in and evaluate the situation. Carlo met my husband on site and was immediately able to diagnose the situation and necessary repairs using his camera system. Unlike the other companies, he took the time to walk around our property and explained what needed to be replaced and what could be repaired.

Carlo ended up suggesting repairing our existing system by replacing only a section of the tiles while clearing out the rest of the tiles that could be salvaged. As expected with a 50 year old house, complications came up but Carlo was able to stay close to the original estimate. He kept in touch with us throughout the process, which we appreciated since we were not on site with him as it was a rental home.

The entire project ended up costing us a fraction of what the original company quoted us. I wish we had contacted Carlo from the beginning!
