Aro Plumbing & Heating

It is the second time I need ARO and the work was quick, clean and fixed my problem. 100% recommend ARO and Kody´s work! :) I also got some good advice for future improvements.

We called ARO Plumbing and Heating due to leaking in our living room ceiling. They sent out Devin our service technician who was very thorough in his investigation of the problem(s). When he found it, he not only explained the problems, he also showed you the problems. He then told you all your options to resolve the problem - and he tells you all the pros & cons to each possible solution so you can make a more informed decision. Once you agree to the repair, Devin keeps you updated and progress of the repair. After the repairs are done, he goes over all the work done and the warranty the goes along with everything.
Overall, I would recommend Devin as a very qualified and informed technician and a pleasure to deal with during a very stressful situation.

As for the company itself, they are horrible to deal with afterwards. I needed a detail invoice to submit to Senior Services for reimbursement and contacted their office for it. You think it's a simple request - but no!!! After over 15 phone calls, leaving messages and the runaround from the manager/owner Peter - still no detailed invoice to be had after 3months. I guess as long as they have their money, they don't care if you get yours!! They don't care about the customers!!!

Very unethical. The company charged me more than 1000 for a toilet that retails for 150. The plumber also suggested me things that don't require fixing and charged me even more. Will never use their service again.

This company replaced two toilets at $1,200 with pre-paid, and the toilets are too tall to fit with existing renovation, and no seal, no bolt cut-off. After 7 times canceled appointment, one plumber came and told tearing down the existing furniture to fit the toilet. Phoned the supervisor and was told the same becuase of 30" assembly heihgt is standard.
Checked the toilet manufacturers website (each toilet is US$120) and Other toilet retailer's specialist, 28" and 30" both are standard in the market And meet CSA and ASME standard.
Ask replace the 30" with 28". Then there is no answer anymore.

We had a leak in our ceiling. I called A.R.O plumbing. They arrived the next day. When the plumber went downstairs to turn our water back on, a water line down there "suddenly" sprung a leak. It only got worse from there. By the time the plumber left, we had 4 holes in our ceiling, two holes in our shower tiles and an unbelievable bill for over five thousand dollars. We called the company to complain, and they insisted that we had been advised of all costs while they worked. This was absolutely not true, the only estimates we were given were for putting a hole in the ceiling (200.00h and a regulator (400 dollars quoted but 600 charged). We have since had a second plumber in (from another company) to assess the work done by A.R.O.. This plumber was appalled by the poor workmanship and by the immensely inflated cost. He agreed that we were totally ripped off. As a final note, the A.R.O. Plumber also told us that he was unable to get our water heater restarted and that we would need to purchase a new one. We refused and my husband was able to restart the heater, no problem. I cannot stress how unethical and unscrupulous this company is. I am seriously thinking of trying to go to the media, or finding some more effective way to stop them from victimizing others. I would love to do this with others who have had the same kind of experience with this company.

Had them come via 'Need a Plumber Canada' to change taps & upgrade piping and partially install tub/shower surround. Never kept their times to come and do the work. Had to wait 4 days for them to come back and finish the job as kept getting bumped. Damaged inside of new tub (now have solder from piping embedded into my tub) Poor workmanship on the partial install of surround and overcharged me for the work that was done. Hot & Cold pipes in Shower were installed in backwards (hot & cold) reversed. Installed a water regulator that has drastically decreased my water pressure (when flush toilet while shower running - shower now almost stops flowing!!) Overcharged on all work done & Very Dissatisfied...

Firstly this company scheduled and then rescheduled 7 times in three days (no water or plumbing for my family - I am a single mom of 3). Secondly they are very overpriced and don’t stand up to their quotes. I was quoted $500 dollars but after the work was done (under ½ hour to unplug mainline and remove and replace my toilet) I got charged $801. I couldn’t even argue the point. And the worst is I gave $300 cash and rest on the credit card. Surprisingly enough he tried to charge the full amount to the credit card and ‘forgot’ about the cash in his pock. This company is overpriced and unreliable. Never again.
