Hot water tank and Bathtub faucet replacement

These bozos came in to replace a bathtub faucet and hacked up the drywall and cut shelf supports to get to the pipes unnecessarily , then told my senior parents that they needed to replace there 8 year old hot water tank immediately. Then patched hoses to pipes in a amateur fashion and didn't secure the pipes properly. I'm not a plumber but I know this is not proper and would be embarrassed to pass this off as a proper job.

Service

We had very little pressure in the cold water tap in a bathroom sink. The technician told us we had to replace the taps to the tune of approximately $800, which I thought was a lot of money. The taps were installed on a Saturday and by Sunday we had the same problem - very little pressure in the cold water tap. I didn't try to get an appointment until a week from the following Monday. Our appointment was between 9:00 - 11:00 am. To make a long story short, we waited 10 1/2 hours on Monday, 3 1/2 hours on Tuesday after the appointed time only to be told at 9:30 pm that the technician would not be coming on those days. The technician finally showed up on Wednesday morning. It was very frustrating to say the least. The service (or lack thereof) was absolutely terrible! At least we know who not to use the next time.

Plumbing - Laundry Piping Re-direct

It is in frustration and disbelief that I write this review.

In April, our 86 year old uncle (in Edmonton) needed to relocate his laundry drain. Richard from ARO or Need a Plumber responded to do a Service call and this is what happened.

He was quoted $1200-$1600 for the job (my spouse is a plumber here in Vancouver and the entire job SHOULD have cost around $800 - $900). No written estimate was done or signed, and when Richard was finished, my uncle was charged $2445 PLUS the service fee! The bill was not itemized so he didn't even have a breakdown of what he was being charged or should I say gouged for! My uncle was told that a $4.28 shut off valve at Home Depot was worth $65! Pleeeeeease.

When we visited in May, my spouse wanted to have a look at the plumbing (in hindsight we wished he would have waited until we came so that my spouse could do the work for him).

We were shocked and horrified to see the slipshod work Richard had done. It was very obvious looking at his work that he is NOT a plumber! My spouse has been a certified Plumber since 1980 and plumbing since 1975 and have NEVER, EVER seen anything like what Richard did!

And to add to this horrendous story, the piping was incorrectly done. My spouse re-did the piping so that it would function properly and not cause future problems

DO NOT call these people for your plumbing needs, they grossly overcharge and under deliver. And when you complain to the company you get customer service placating jargon and an insult to refund $250 when the overcharge was more like $1600.

Leaky Tap

HORRIBLE!!! Complete rip off and terrible service!
We had them come fix a seemly simple plumbing issue (dipping shower faucet) for us. They claimed it to be a much bigger issue and needed to replace a very expensive plumbing part that cost $900. After further investigation we discovered that was NOT the case.

Furthermore, once the 'plumber' left I went into the bathroom to look at it. The plumber had left without finishing the job. The caulking around the faucet was torn off and not re-placed and the entire tap was on backwards and upside down.

We called to report the concern and we were snuffed off and they stated that there was nothing that they could do (or would do) to rectify the problem.

Terrible, terrible, terrible!!! STAY AWAY!!!

john woods hot water heater

The plumber helped us be proactive with our old hot water heater, the rust at the intake is a good sign that a replacement would be needed the model installed seems much more energy efficient and to date there have been no problems with the installation.
