We are here now. I'm not sure why they keep flying off, I will make a call to IKO and get back to you. If the roof has seen over 130 km/h gusts they will not be covered under manufactures warranty for the '25 y marathon' shingle but instead will be covered under home insurance. This is why I no longer offer three tab shingles, I've learned my lesson. In fact there are two neighbours directly across the street who's relatively new 3 tab shingles are flying off the roof as I type this! Plus scores more all down the street.
The roof is fixed and new shingles have been caulked down. The roof needs re doing with a laminate shingle (210km/h wind warranty), I will take pictures to send with a warranty claim to IKO. I will let you know what they decide as soon as I hear back.
To clarify, I didn't install the flashing, it was put on by the builder and replacing it was not part of the contract. This was a favour I was going to do you guys at no charge when I had time. The over 3000$ worth of equipment and material left at the side of your house was to assure you we would definitely back. After seeing the review I decided instead to just change the caulking to the appropriate colour. I'm sure you understand, thank you. Ryan
*The reason you needed the roof done was the age of the shingles. Just like all the other roofs we did on your street, it needed doing. If it was imperative that the metal was changed I would've done it long ago. The roof and flashing are watertight. The caulking is the correct colour. That is what you paid for. If you want the metal replaced it would be approx. $300.
I apologize. Cleanup is a big part of the job, some say the most important for customer satisfaction, and if we didn't do that properly then yes, we didn't do a proper job. Please send me a bill for the tire and your inconvenience.
As for the roof, we had the worst fall and winter ever, how's the roof ...perfect.. that's what I thought. We know EXACTLY what we're doing, we may be '10-20% lower than some companies' but we're about 100% lower than any other reputable company (not home starts reputable, actually reputable) who may have done almost as good of a job on the roof as we did (however their cleanup may have been better and for the price it better be).
With Elements the owner is on the roof! It's the only way I can keep costs down while ensuring quality work. I was on the roof for this particular job. I have two regrets at this point in time; the cleanup, and giving you such a good deal as I don't appreciate the rather nasty assumptions you have made about me and my company.
However, I agreed to the price, and cleanup was included. So, please send me a bill or even just a $ figure for the tires and your time, and I will reimburse you.
We fixed the problem yesterday sept 25. I now remember this roof. We did come by 6 months ago, a vent was caulked. Turns out that wasn't the problem as this customer called again just over a week ago, we found that two step flashing were missing from the wall. I am not exactly surprised as my ex partner Jason did this roof with me at the time and he has been known to cut corners. Sorry about the delay we are very busy.
