Grand Building supplied and installed a heated driveway. This is not an easy assignment to get right, and so that needs to be flagged up front.

Pluses:
1) They are good, genuine people who want to deliver a good service. The polar opposite of fly-by-night operators.
2) Supply and installation was good. Some minor repairs were needed almost a year on but those were addressed.
3) Normally very prompt responses and follow up.

Minuses:
1) It took them a while to fine-tune the heated driveway. Sometimes it wouldn't go on when it was meant to. Mind you the operating manual was quite appalling so I was surprised that Grand Building actually figured it all out

Would I work with them again? Yes, definitely

GBC were extremely professional. The house remained very clean remained very clean throughout the process. The job was done on time and within budget. Extremely happy with the final product. I highly recommend GBC.

We were absolutely delighted with the final product and how we got there. Adam and the team did a great job at the initial estimates of time and cost, and produced a well thought out design and were very clear on the areas that may impact it as the work started (the unknowns, that everyone should expect when remodeling an old home). We were extremely happy with the management of the workplace. The team finished every day by leaving the work areas spotless, organized, and marked with watch outs, so that we could see the progress every day clearly. Without hesitation we would strongly recommend this team. Great Job

I don't have much else to say but 30 words are required so here they are :)

This was our first home reno project and it was the kitchen, the most used part of our house. Naturally we had a lot of questions, concerns and special requests and took a long time figuring out what we wanted. Adam was very patient with us throughout the process, listened to our needs and provided helpful recommendations. Brad was always on time, thorough in everything he did and kept things clean at the end of each day. And he did an awesome job on our somewhat unorthodox backsplash :) There were a few delays beyond Grand's control but Adam and Brad kept us informed throughout. Anytime we contacted Adam, he got right back to us right away. We love our new dream kitchen and would definitely recommend Grand Contracting to others!

I hired Grand Building & Contracting to waterproof my bungalow basement and replace/repair the floors that had been torn up due to installing new drains about 4 years ago. I was also having mold issues in one part of the basement due to water coming in from the foundation. Alex came over right away and provided a reasonable quote and timeline for the work that needed to be done including mold remediation, waterproofing basement from the outside, repairing sub-floors, new carpet installation, and new ceramics & laundry tub w/ cabinet in the laundry room.
Alex is an experienced, knowledgeable and trustworthy contractor with a very professional and capable team. I’m extremely satisfied with the work and love my new, mold-free, water tight basement.
I would definitely hire Alex and his team for future home renovation projects and highly recommend this company.

One of our biggest home project we have done so far so very nervous when picking the right contractor to do our basement renos but we are very much satisfied and pleased that we made the right choice. Adam ensured that our basement needs were met, he made sure he gave us ample time to think about major decision to make from the layout to picking up the right faucet and at the same time giving his honest opinion what will and will not work. Matt and Andrew (brothers which I always thought were twins hehe..) were very- detailed, provide impeccable and quality work. The electrician Jase fulfilled our dream of having house hard-wired (it's a four storey townhome) and we are so happy with the results

Adam and the crew were easy to work with and the best thing was they listened to us and never rushed. They accommodated our plan changes in the middle of the project few times

We also got them to install outside railing for easy access for the seniors visiting us and the railing looks solid. Again very happy with the results.

We are definitely going to have them for our next renovation and would highly recommend to our friends.

Two weeks ago our kitchen was completed by Grand Building and we are thrilled with the results. Adam, Brad and the team did all the rights things. A condo kitchen renovation is not as simple as a home renovation so you need to be more organized and plan out the project completely. It started with Adam detailing all the deliverables, co-coordinating with our cabinet maker and preparing a detailed project schedule with adequate buffer for the trades to work effectively. Every trade from the tiler to the electrician, quartz counter-top installers and the plumber came in on schedule, worked professionally and finished each task perfectly. Brad was meticulous with the drywall and painting. Even the demolition was quick an orderly. The best part was that everyone showed up when scheduled and tidied up the job site before leaving. The project came in on time and on budget and looks outstanding. I would highly recommend Grand building.

I had this company pour concrete in a circular fashion from my front porch to my driveway. They installed stone over the existing porch, new walkway & a sidewalk to the backyard as well as putting in beautiful black railings.

The cutting of the stone in relation to the circular walkway for stone design in 1 small area was a sloppy mess. The placement of the stone on the porch was better. I feel that the installation of stone to the walkway to the backyard could have been better if the mason staff measured & cut appropriately. I know that having a neighbors fence in the way is not easy to work with but we all want perfection.

While looking at the work I noticed that the spacing between the stone was not consistent. When the job was fully completed I had Jason come out with another mason person & he advised that a acid wash should be done as the cleaning of the stone was not done properly. Also after 1 winter 1 stone has cracked due to run off water from the porch & 2 other stones have fallen off.

I was advised that the company came when I was not home & did an acid wash. They did replace the cracked stone along with filling in a few areas of concern. I still am not happy with the acid was as it looks horrible from the street.

The owner Alex & his son have showed up without calling on my property numerous times stating that they would do another power was or acid wash but they only showed up for a smaller project looking to be compensated.
I have not heard back from this company or have been contacted by them.

I am in the process of consulting another company to repair their shoddy work.

This contractor installed a deck without any support footings. When the building inspector came by he wanted it torn down. What was the contractor's response? The building inspector is wrong! They knew better than him!
3 other contractors came by to propose fixing the deck and couldn't believe the poor quality of the job.
We demanded a refund and they just bailed.
