Finding a good contractor is challenging. We've been through a number over the years - some better than others but none perfect. Neither are Perfect Renovations but they are definitely on the good end of the scale.
Overall renovation included a complete retrofit of lighting, kitchen and flooring. Perfect Renovation handled some electrical, drywall patching and finishing, painting, carpentry and tile work over several stages of the project. All work with some very minor exceptions was done to very high standards.
Key positives:
- Flexible. Like most projects things didn't go to plan. Kevin and his team always seemed to manage to find the time to pop by and get something done when we needed it within the context of the larger project.
- Quality team. Team was skilled, always a pleasure to work with, great finished product. Jeff is beyond outstanding!!!
Key negatives:
- Communication around pricing and invoicing was quite confusing. Make sure you add as much detail to your estimate as possible to avoid issues later.
- Drop cloths! More could have been and should have been done to protect floors and furnishings during work. Recommendation? If they don't show up with what you perceive to be adequate protection, don't let them start until they do.
Overall:
I haven't had a project so far that wasn't frustrating and had it's share of problems. The true test is whether the contractor makes it right at the end. Perfect Renovations gets this right!!! Yes we had problems. But they were addressed in a professional manner without hesitation and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Perfect to others (we have already used then again for some smaller items).
