Hardwood Giant

Hardwood Giant's method of doing business is extremely unprofessional and nefarious.
For one, I called in 20 minutes before I could come to the store to check if they had a certain type of hardwood in stock. I had previously purchased white oak gunstock hardwood a few weeks back and I wanted to complete my living room this time around. The sales person tells me they definitely have it IN-STOCK.

When I come in, he then tells me that they actually ran out of stock last week but he has similar models to the one I was looking for. Bait-and-switch? are you kidding me?. I asked him when he would get a restock and he says the producer has actually gone out of business but he assures me the other merchandise in store now is better...

2) After caving in and buying a very close shade, he then tells me shipping is now $150 because of new gas prices and they switch it up every year. Just a reminder, I had just bought wood from HG a few weeks back and I had paid $70 then. Once I tell him this, he argues that I MUST BE MISTAKEN and $150 is the new price.

After calling head office, I finally get the shipping back down to $75.

3) I was promised the wood would be delivered in 2 weeks. It has now been 5 weeks and I have yet to receive the product. I was told when I purchased, they had the stock for sure. Two weeks later, they told me that they were understocked. Four weeks after purchase, the goods were mistakenly shipped to another warehouse. I ask for my money back, they say no, hold on we'll have it at your house this week. THIS WEEK," the driver is sick, all customers are waiting. The product is in the van BUT no driver."

4) Day of "alleged" delivery (today). I had initially ordered 19 boxes (20 square feet/ box). Salesperson calls me a few hours back and says, "It looks like there are actually 22 square feet a box - we'll be sending over 16 boxes."...then immediately hangs up. I call back and tell her she must be joking because that's less wood that I ordered. She replied by saying we can give you a 17th but you will have to pay $30.

After running through the math with her and then yelling at how incompetent they are. She asks me "what's the difference? it's only $30"!. Quickly realizing how stupid that was to say, she then tells me - she'll do me a solid and give me 17 boxes.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM HARDWOOD GIANT! They are the absolute worst! The few dollars of savings here is not worth the amount of stress these guys give you.

**Update** I have got the wood and twos entire boxes have damaged product. Hardwood refuses to reimburse me or provide a replacement.

I have purchased the hardwood from Hardwood Giant Burlington location and service was excellent. I am so happy with quality of Hardwood. I would certainly be the good referral for Hardwood Giant.

They did a wonderful installation in my apartment last time, when I did a renovation. It’s been a few years now and the exquisite laminate floors still looks amazing. I am simply overwhelmed with the post installation services. After a year they also provide me a free of cost post installation service. I would surely recommend them to my friends and relatives.

I had an excellent experience with Hardwood Giant at their Brampton location on Torbram and Steeles. I purchased solid oak hardwood flooring at a great price and did so after quite extensive price shopping. Hardwood Giant price for the flooring along was approx 40% cheaper than other retailers in the GTA. They had a promo for free installation so that was a great bonus. The installers were courteous, professional and overall did a great job. After the installation, the head office called to ensure everything went well and to give them any feedback.

I have since referred them to few of my friends and family who had great things to say. Thank you guys for all your help!

worst company to deal with. Every nail or staple shows. They show up and tell me I bought a cheap product and nothing they can or will do. Tried to make a minor resolve and they still fail. Now I want it replaced or full refund, and I know this won't happen. Avoid at all cost

Don't trust them! Sales guy was very sweet/nice, guess that's how they get you to buy. You think you are getting a deal, but your not. Don't get them to install. Guy who comes to measure tells you you need all these things, waste of money. Just a way to make more money off of you. Lots of extras they try and get you on. Called head office several times for so many issues. Their installers finished when it was dark, too bad for me that I paid them the balance when they left. Realize the next day, the stain on the nosing was not done properly, did not darken like the installer said. Also they decided to empty their air compressor on my front step, leaving a yellow oil stain. Tried calling head office, never called me back. WORST customer service ever. They guy who measures is not the guys who installs so what you discuss with the guy who measures, never gets relayed to the installers!! GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!

absolutely do not trust that the installers will tell the truth about how many boxes of unopened material or unused plywood subfloor - MAKE SURE you are there to count every box, and document or sign how much material you return. they WILL NOT! we were told only 2 boxes unopened, and 3 sheets plywood, they counted on the estimate, and dumb consumers, and we counted our floor installed - after they left with unused materials, and they were WAY OFF! The work & the material was excellent, just the sly finish, counting on the stupidity of the consumer made us angry. Go ahead use them, but make them show/take photo's or sign/count the unused materials at the end of your install - don't count on them to do it honestly.

Laminate flooring is outstanding. Installation and customer service are the WORST I have ever experienced. Giant Hardwood answers your calls, makes promises and hang up never to be heard from again. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. The installers treat your home like a warehouse and scuff and scratch almost every inch of the laminate.
