My husband and I moved from Toronto to Calgary. I obtained quotes from quite a few moving companies. I chose Troy because they had the best prices and were very transparant in how the price was calculated and what I got for my money. I communicated with one person (Sofia) via e-mail (a big timesaver) consistently through the process and she was very helpful and responded promptly to all my questions. The movers were very friendly, on time and everything proceeded smoothly. My parents were able to accept the move for us. There was a bit of a mix up with the final cost/payment but it was quickly rectified and I was still very happy with the overall service. Thank you Troy! I would recommend you to others.

Troy Moving just finished a move for me from Ottawa to Toronto.

My job transfer took place very last minute and miraculously Lily was able to co ordinate it……..within 48 hours of my phone call my goods were packed, picked up and delivered the next day. Flawless! It took so much stress off me having the pro’s at Troy pack, it was worth the extra money to have them pack the boxes.

I let them in the condo, went out for some last minute errands, I came back to find the men almost done!

Great experience, will use them again when I move back to Ottawa next year!

A few weeks ago myself and my daughter moved to Toronto using Troy Moving. The guys at delivery came within the window I was told, and called half an hour before they arrived (which was great). The arrival was between 7-10 days, but there was a delay with the holiday so it came on about day 12. That’s ok though, the people at the office called me well in advance so I could make arrangements to stay with my friend a little longer.

When the delivery guys came they were very nice to me and to my daughter.

Upon unpacking I noticed that her bed frame was missing and that my dresser had a chunk out of the trim, after the initial upset I called the office, and sure enough her bedframe was there, they dropped it off the next day.

With the dresser they sent me a damage form which I sent back right away, within 2 weeks I got a response from the claims department and they offered to cover a portion of the repair cost of the dresser. Considering I didn’t have any special insurance I really appreciate the effort made and the speediness of the response to my concerns.

Every move has it’s hiccups, but I truly feel that Troy cares about the customer and would recommend them to anyone

AVOID THIS MOVING COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!! Here is my story:

We set everything up with TROY TRANSPORTATION and they were going to come pick our stuff up on a specific day between 12-2pm; they arrived at 4pm with no phone call or apologies, and the movers were quite unfriendly. They did not wrap any of our stuff up for protection except for one glass table. The estimation based on how much stuff we had was $500.

When moving day came, the stuff arrived at our place on time (September 9) except they forgot our carpet somewhere apparently the warehouse. The furniture that we did get arrived damaged (wood tables were all chipped up and scratched). The estimation of $500 turned into $1066. We called the place at the end of September, when they said the missing carpet would arrive, and they said that the truck broke down half way. Sounded a bit fishy. They then said it should arrive in another 2 weeks after that. Two weeks later, still no carpet. We then started talking with a new employee who said “we have located your carpet in Vancouver” (the place that the stuff was being moved from). I guess the truck that broke down half-way turned around back to Vancouver with all of the stuff. It was then mid November and we were told the carpet should arrive at the end of November for whatever excuse. No carpet arrived at the end of November. We were then promised that the carpet would be here in the first week of December on a Sunday. No carpet arrived because apparently the driver was in Fernie, BC. We were then promised again that the carpet would arrive on December 12. The carpet did not arrive until the 13th of December, three months later than we were told and over 30 phone calls later. The most aggravating drawn out process I’ve ever experienced with a moving company. Obviously this company lacks in management skills. All that they were willing to refund of the $1066 was 50 dollars.
I STRONGLY ADVISE NOT USING THIS COMPANY!!!

After a second great experience with Troy Moving, I asked Sofia what I could do for her after they had treated me and my family so great!
As a family business, she simply asked that I write a few reviews about this company to help with future business!

The first move in June was from Russell, MB to Oakville, ON. After living in Oakville for a few months I decided it just wasn't for me and thought moving to a smaller town up north might be more suitable. My first thought before looking for quotes, was "let's see what Sofia can do for me this time".........as suspected, everything was as I had expected and hoped! The guys were awesome for both moves, the ladies (and gentleman) in the office were always ready to help, and always friendly.
As we move quite often its good to know that I have Sofia and her crew, for cross country, across province and across town moves!
Thanks again, as much as I am not looking forward to moving again, I am looking forward to dealing with Troy for a simple and low cost move!

It is always somehow stressfull to move, especially with a family and a new life starting. We moved overseas and accross Canada twice. Our most revent move with Troy Moving went very well and was quite professional. All of our things, including my canoe, my bikes, made it safe and sound and on time.

Thanks to our Moving assistant who was always there, either over the phone or by email. This effective communication line made all the difference.

We recently moved from Edmonton to Kitchener and weren't impressed with Troy. All upfront correspondence was fine but then the problems started. They did not give me a pick-up time. On pick-up day I called repeatedly their office, was first told "in the afternoon", then "between 2-6 PM". The movers came at 7 PM. Our stuff did not arrive in Kitchener until 3 weeks later instead of 5-10 days! In between we heard over and over that the truck was delayed and they did not know where it was. Our delivery day was postponed again and again. Even once we had a delivery time booked they could not make it but did not tell us either! We accidentally found out through one of the many calls (many of them left unanswered) we gave them trying to find out what's going on. In the end we got our stuff. The boxes labelled fragile had definitely not been handled with care. We got a bit of compensation for all the hassle but I surely would not move with them again.

I recently moved with Troy Moving from Vancouver to Montreal. When I was looking around for moving companies, I came across Troy Moving who sent me a very reasonable price and quote for moving and packing. After going back and forth with the moving representative about my move, she answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable with every aspect of the move.

I chose them for my move and that is one of the best decisions that I could have made. I was very happy with the service starting from the pick-up right up until the delivery.

The truck was a bit delayed at arrival, but we didn't mind, because we have been notified well in advance.

The office staff was very friendly and the guys were great. They went beyond our expectations and the price was very reasonable. We had the full packing service, they crated one of our statues and everything arrived in order, with no exceptions whatsoever.

Thanks to Troy Moving we are happily settled in our new home and I proudly taking this opportunity to give feedback on my experience.

On October 15th we made arrangements for Troy Moving Company to come and pick up my sons bedroom set and 12 boxes of stuff from our house and ship it to BC. It was a rainy day and the guys worked quite quickly. My husband and I weighed everything before hand so we knew approx. what the cost would be. The bill came in a little higher then expected but still resonable. Sofia was in constant contact with us and I with her. The only problem we had was the bed board gota little scratched and we were told it would take 8 to 12 days to arrive and it actually arrived Nov 01 in BC. and delivered to my son on Nov 4th. Yes there were few bumps but over all good service. Thank you Sofia for everything
