In preparation for buying my first home, I hired Clearview for a pre-purchase inspection. The entire experience has left me beyond disappointed!
Upon reviewing the inspection report, I felt confident buying the home, as no serious issues were observed. However, several months after moving into the home, I discovered a large patched crack in the foundation that stretches from the basement window all the way to the floor. From the exterior of the house, it is clearly visible, but unfortunately, their inspector Bob missed it.
I’m very worried that this could lead to significant structural or water issues in the future. In fact, I have already noticed several structural issues with the home such as as out of level door frames and cracks in the walls. I'm told this could cost $100,000+ to repair.
Clearview's owner, Thomas, informed me the crack was not missed during the inspection. Instead, he claims their inspector deemed it a non-issue, therefore the report did not include it. However, the report was full of other useless information such as a kitchen cabinets rubbing together. It seems, however, that a major structural repair was not important enough to include!
As a first-time home buyer, I placed my faith and confidence in Clearview to ensure my first home was in good condition. This was a terrible mistake! I would not recommend this company to anyone.
