central air installed; hot water tank replaced

In June 2014 we had cental air installed and an old rented electric hot water tank replaced with a new gas hot water tank.
Plumbing for the new tank was leaky and very ugly. Mersey was to return the old hot water tank to the company. It took many calls and emails and the tank was finally returned in October.
In the fall when we turned on the furnace it didn't work. The new thermostat installed with the A/C didn't work. The Mersey service rep said repairs would be in the hundreds. On being encouraged to take a second look he discovered the gas supply to the furnace had been turned off and the thermostat not properly wired. Our furnace humidifier has not worked since the thermostat was fixed, since apparently the power supply connection for the humidifier was used for the thermostat. The service technician didn't mention this. It wasn't until we tried to turn the humidifier that we discovered this problem. Mersey offered to fix it if we would pay them more money for the repair.
In addition Mersey was to submit paperwork to the government for a rebate on the A/C installation. It seems the paperwork went missing and had to be re-submitted in November. We finally got our cheque in January 2015.
While Kathie is a good sales rep our experience with the technical and administrative staff at Mersey did not give us confidence in this company. I cannot recommend this company for any installation or service work.
