Gienow Renovations

This was a difficult job involving cutting brick facing in order to fit in a larger window. Andrei and Georg managed it with aplomb, aided by the first semi-warm day in weeks and Andrei completed the job even after the temperature plunged. Alexei checked in to see that things were progressing correctly. A pleasing solution was created for a tough situation. Ya gotta love these Russian guys.

I have full house renovation and windows and doors is one of biggest contract. I contacted 9 contractors and I feel luck to hire Gienow. Ron came to my house and provided me quick estimate in second day with full technical details. Although their price isn't lowest, their technical strength gave me confidence because I needed to convert an entire wall into a huge window facing beautiful mountain view. Installer Burim led his team and has done very professional installation. He showed me installation processes step by step. 2 windows came with wrong size. To be honest, even I didn't capture it. But Burim found it and returned to shop. I am 100% satisfied with their installation service.
The only concern I have is they made wrong size for one window twice. I have to wait for months though it does impact my project.

We bought windows for a new 4,200 sqft home construction back in Jan 2014. Delivery was promised by Feb 4th but was delayed twice with no heads-up from the dealer in Kelowna. Very dissapointing since I've had to reschedule my installer & sub-trades each time at my expense. The windows finally arrrived at the Kelowna office 4 weeks late but with all doors still on back order. Gienow is now asking for full payment up front before any delivery to our building site. I'm very relunctant to accomodate since all my other dealings with other parts of the house has been payment upon delivery. I'm not comfortable paying an additonal $40K without seeing & inspecting the product first. When we bought the windows we made a 30% deposit. Gienow failed to mention about the required full payment before final delivery until now so we feel that we are being held hostage at this point. Had to file a complaint with the BBB. No resolution yet.

From the time we met with TJ to talk about options, to Alex taking measurements, to Terry scheduling the installation, to Alex and Ryan installing everything, we were extremely pleased with the level of service and professionalism we experienced. Most of our interactions were with Alex and Ryan during the installation. They were both very friendly and polite, the other workers were as well. It was easy to see their dedication to doing the job properly! Although they worked a considerable number of hours each day to complete the job, our home was always tidy before they left each evening. Alex remained in communication with us throughout the installation and ensured we were aware of the progress made each day. In spite of the severe winter storm that occurred at the start of the installation, Alex and Ryan did their absolute best to complete the job within the estimated time frame.

We replaced all of the windows in our home and swapped out french doors for a single door with sidelights on both sides. The new windows and door have made an incredible difference, both aesthetically and functionally! We would absolutely recommend Gienow (already have!) and intend to use their services again in our next home.

Truly excellent results. The old window was nearly falling out of its frame from dry rot. Gienow custom made and installed a new, much nicer looking window including new sills, vinyl frames, triple paned open out sides with screens and decorative munton bars. From the initial visit by the extremely knowledgeable and courteous estimator, to the promptly followed visit from the installer to take careful measurements, to the install in just a few hours, the results are near perfect. I am extremely impressed by Gienow's customer service, their range of products, their ability and willingness to customize the install, competitive price point and the end results - a beautiful (from the inside and out) new big bay window that is energy efficient and maintenance free. I couldn't be happier. We've now contracted for two sets of patio doors with absolute confidence in Gienow and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this great Calgary company.

New construction, 5000 sq ft home.2012. Not trying to be cheap. We are disappointed with the performance of our Gienow windows (harmony) and doors, after having 3 doors rebuilt due to moisture getting past weatherseal we are still having problems. This morning at a whopping minus 8c we have at least 2 inches of condensation built up on most, but not all of the glass in the house, I put a straight edge on one of the rebuilt doors and it showed it was far from straight. My wood liners are all bowed in any window over 3 ft wide. I was having trouble installing blinds level as the 3 panel doors were out of level on the top by close to an inch. My weatherstripping is falling of my patio doors ( again) I was told they would schedule a service call but I have yet to hear from them. I am tired of calling them. Now some of the hardware seems to be getting hard to turn I am not looking forward to replacing them all as it would be around 100k.
We thought we were buying a quality product and didn't worry about paying a bit more for it. I wont be using them again for my next custom house.

Our new home has Gienow windows and doors throughout. The house is 2 years old and all bedroom window leak air in the corners. Even the fixed panes leak air. During the winter months we have frost on the inside due to the air leakage. We have contacted Gienow to have them fixed but they tell us it is normal "thermal transfer." I'm not a thermal transfer expert but when wind is blowing against the window enough air comes through to blow out a lighter. With the quality of these windows and the approach the company has taken to help us get the windows repaired I would recommend other companies.

I ordered a front window from WAYLON , installers came October, 7, 2013 were very unprofessional, one of them was complaining the whole time. The windows did not have screens in them and they said they would drop the off the next day. Two weeks passed and no window screens. So i called WAYLON to see where my screens are, he sounded baffled and did not know a thing about it. HE ASKED ME TO EMAIL HIM so I did and the Install shop emailed me back October ,16,13 (NOT THE USELESS SALESMAN) explaining that they pretty much forgot to order them with screens and they would be in Oct 24, 2013 and ALSO i wanted them to fix the caulking around the window due to the LARGE gaps and they said they would send some one ASAP (which they didn't). I also emailed WAYLON to tell him how disappointed i was with the service and HE DID NOT EVEN CALL OR EMAIL BACK. Nov,3,13 no window screens yet, i was fed up so i called WAYLON WHO DIDNT EVEN REMEBER WHO I WAS OR WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT (LOSER) so i got mad hung up on him. I called the install office and they sent someone with the screens and to fix the caulking. All in all i would NEVER Recommend these people , they have the worst customer service NOT EVEN and an apology from ANYONE. WAYLON is the worst salesman i have ever met. Yes they are cheaper than everyone else BUT it is not worth the frustration.

We have used Gienow Window and Doors for all our new home construction for many years. They have been reliable and accurate on delivery due dates and any service that is required they perform in a punctual and professional manner.

I had a good feeling about this company, after reading reviews, however, that has since changed.
The salesman was very professional and genuine. I was asked to pay 2/3 up front, which equalled $800. I was also told that a swing-out hinged door would cost a little extra, depending on whether or not the installer had to cut into the "header".
The installers were friendly and efficient and completed the tear-out/install within 2 hours. They did NOT cut into the header and I was told that the job was no problem at all. Unfortunately, the interior door trim, chosen by the worker, doesn't quite cover where the old trim was, so I will have to patch and repaint. Luckily, I had planned to paint anyway.
I never received a final bill and was Shocked to see a $1000 charge on my credit card. I have no idea what I ended up being billed for and I had no idea they were about to charge me without first informing me. NOT HAPPY. I phoned the company and left a message with my job order/ph number, etc... and never heard from them. Over a week later, I have called them again and I'm now waiting to hear back.
Very disappointing experience.
