GE Dryer Repair

The first tech sent to fix my dryer that was making a scraping noise was careless and dropped the front of the dryer on top of the washing machine several times and damaged the top and front panel of the washer. He then made the scraping noise worse by trying to fix the problem with duct tape on the back of the drum which was then catching on the guides preventing it from turning properly. There was also burning smell that he claimed was the new heating assembly, but it was because of the tape. He left the machine in an unusable state and said he needed to order a new drum.

A week later on the second visit from Elite to install a new drum they brought the wrong size that it didn't fit my machine, this despite having the exact model of machine they were repairing. They had to reuse the original drum and remove all the duct tape from the previous tech. After putting the machine back together crooked the lid of the washing machine wouldn't stay open to load the machine. To repair the physical damage caused by the previous tech they just applied some touch up paint to the damaged areas.

On a positive note, the company and the technicians were very polite and apologetic and eventually made things right.

GE Dryer Repair

I'm completely unimpressed with the service technicians that came to fix my dryer that was making a scraping noise. The first tech dropped the front of the dryer on top of the washing machine several times and damaged the top and front panel of the washer. He made the scraping noise worse than before he touched because of all the duct tape he put on the back of the drum and it was catching on the guides preventing it from turning properly, and there was burning smell but he claimed the smell was because of the new heating assembly, in reality it was because of the duct tape. The machine is only 9 months old and can't be used, a second service call is now required to replace the drum.

On the second visit from Elite to install the new drum they brought the wrong size that it didn't fit my machine, this despite having the exact model of machine they were repairing. They had to reuse the original drum and remove all the duct tape from the previous tech. They put the machine back together crooked and now the washing machine lid won't stay open to load the machine and the dryer timer dial is now off center, it still runs in the off position. To repair the physical damage caused by the previous tech they just applied some touch up paint to the damaged areas.

All of these service techs need further training before being sent on service calls. I'm completely shocked how they are GE authorized service with incompetent and careless work that was done.
