installation of furnace and air conditioner

Terrible experience with this company. They came to install the furnace and remove the old one. The person removing the old furnace could barely make it up and down the stairs to the basement. He was sweating profusely and short of breath. My son had to help him due to his inability to complete the job on his own. My husband had to buy a bag of cement to fill in the hole from where the oil tank pipe had been. The guy that was suppose to do that didn't have enough cement to complete the job. The installers of the furnace did not have a sticker that has to be on the furnace

before the gas company will pass it after inspection. So the gas
inspector failed the installation due to this and we were billed for this ( then later we were re-imbursed once the gas company finally approved it). We waited weeks for this sticker that apparently had to come from somewhere's in the states..we were told Texas first
then later another state. After all was said and done, recently two different
professionals told us that the fresh air intake on the furnace is not installed properly. It should be taking the fresh air from the outside

not from the old stale air in the basement. Our neighbors all have
theirs done the proper way, taking fresh air from the outside. We called and asked if they would come back and pipe it to the outside as other companies do. They said they would have to charge us 250 dollars to do this. As a health care professional I have real concerns about the air quality that we are subjected to since other companies have advised against this practice . I guess we would have had more to complain about if my husband and son had not helped the worker that day the old furnace was removed, and yet they want to charge 250 dollars for a job that should have been done properly in the first place.

We called to ask if they could come back and do it properly ...have the air coming from the outside but they said they would charge us 250 dollars to do this. I guess we would have had more to complain about if my husband and son had not helped out the worker. .

Approximate cost of services:
$6,199.00

Company Response

Hello, the last thing we want is unhappy customers and we do pride ourselves on great workmanship as most of our homestars reviews report on. Your installation was done well, and we worked with you throughout this to solve the issue. The problem wasn't with our technicians, it was with the Oil Removal company. The removal technician was feeling unwell that day as he explained, but instead of cancelling the job, he pushed on through. Your oil tank was one of the largest capacity and it was extremely heavy, especially for someone not feeling well. Lastly, we explained this to you during the installation, which was a long time ago, but I'll explain it again, that the furnace manufacturer failed to put the RATING PLATE with the technical specifications on the unit, and this is what was needed for the gas company to start the system up. We had to wait for the mfg to make another one, and we did get that done. It was not us holding you up.

thank you,
