Acker Home Inspection

Was recommended by a friend. Very professional and knowledgeable! Would definitely use them again! I like the fact that they educated me about all the different aspects of my home.

My one year Tarion submission is coming due. Since this is my first time owning a home, I wanted to contract inspectors who actually knew what to look for. Of the recommendations I received from friends, this company was frequently referred and they did not disappoint - finding 16 items for my list. I would recommend Acker Home Inspections, and actually have since they've come done the work. Thank you.

They did a home inspection for us. Very professional and explained everything to us. Gave us a hard copy and a digital copy of the inspection.

Phil came to do an inspection on a water leak of a drywall. He checked the roof and the bathroom and gave recommendations on how to investigate the leak.

I was quite impressed with the Home Inspection that Acker completed on April 8, 2016!

They helped me with my home heating issues with thermal imaging and quickly identified the root cause of the heating issue. Phil helped me out with 3 home inspections for us (new & old homes). I would highly recommend his services to anyone as every time he was very punctual, polite, professional and thorough with his inspection work. He took the time to explain everything to us and cared enough to go back to a property couple times on my request to address/revalidate some concerns (free of charge). He has a professional engineering background & decades of experience under his belt and it just shines through his work & the results.

I have also recommended him to close friends/family members and they are all extremely happy with his work. Frankly, I am one of those guys that don't really have the time to write on-line reviews - positive OR negative. Just had to take a minute to do this bit for Phil as he has sincerely helped us out several times. Thanks Phil!

I had huge expectation looking at Phil's activity in buildinghomes forum and good over all reviews in the internet. I also had few apprehensions like others who had a experience of him rushing through the inspection process.
Due to this reason i told him specifically that you will be the only person doing inspection and other person with you can prepare the report but not do any inspection.
Unfortunately he did not honor his own commitment. He did exterior part and attic and let Randy complete interior and Infrared imaging check part. Since i was with him i did not even get a chance to follow what Randy did.
The only reason i decided to go with Phil was because they have infrared imaging capability to check the moisture behind walls. they did not have even basic decency to show me how they checked and concluded no issues on moisture side.
My earlier home inspector for 30 days warranty was an excellent guy thousand times better than these folks.He spent enough time to look everything in my house explaining all details.
I would not recommend anybody to choose Phil based on my experience.

Update : Phil did get back to me after my initial review and tried to re-do few stuff specially Infrared one. I was happy that he did listen to my concerns and included them in the report this time instead of out-rightly ignoring them as cosmetic issues last time. I had hired three different inspectors in the last 1-1/2 year of my home construction, 30 day and year end. My feedback in this site was always based on caparison among three of them. My initial criteria to select this particular company was:
1. one of earlier two inspector does not use Infrared camera which i wanted and second one was out of country and my submission date was near
2. Phil has great forum reviews on buildinghomes and decent rating in homestar.
i would still not recommend this company to others if i need to choose among the three i used but i really appreciate the way Phil contacted me and tried to address my concerns.
